Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,066 per month

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,066 - $5,752 per month
  • This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.
  • Positions at Fresno State are to perform their work onsite. Some positions, depending upon University needs and operations, may be eligible for remote work, one day per week, pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

As an integral part of the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, the Black Student Success Initiative is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual for an entry-level Program Assistant role. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the success and retention of Black students on campus. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be able to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals and have a passion for student success.

Under the supervision of the Program Program Director, performs basic professional Student Services work and essential in accordance with established work procedures to contribute to a safe and welcoming campus environment. The incumbent provides basic counseling and advising services to support the academic, personal, and social development of students.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to rapidly acquire a working knowledge of the specific objectives of the campus Student Services program and its relationship to the total campus operation.
  • Learn to interpret and apply program rules and regulations.

Education and Experience
  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a jobrelated field and one year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level. Equivalent amounts of graduate level jobrelated education may be substituted for the required experience. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a yearforyear basis.
