FUNCTION
Pharmacy manages all aspects of patients' pharmaceutical needs in various clinical settings. Focuses on achieving optimal medication use and patient outcomes in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

SUB-FUNCTION
Pharmacy Technician Services is responsible for assisting the licensed pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical services to patients, as well as providing necessary services and information to nursing and medical staff.These services include preparation and packaging of medications, distribution of medications, supplies and equipment, maintaining proper inventory levels, ensuring medications are in date and secure, keeping appropriate records and documentation, and submitting patient charges/ have familiarity with hardware configurations, software applications, and file store systems as they relate to pharmacy automation systems.These positions are also responsible for supporting initiatives of area supervisors and managers.

May be the primary owner/authority on a given program or process. Performs work of technical (i.e. skilled trade), operational, or administrative nature. Work is performed within clearly established guidelines and procedures. Execution of work is dependent on guidance and decisions made by others. At Lead level may coordinate and review day-to-day work of others. Typically does not require a university degree but post secondary education or training may be useful or required.

CAREER LEVEL
Entry level technical, operational, or clinical/business support role. Develops confidence and knowledge in technical and operational areas. Little or no previous knowledge and experience. Solves straight forward problems. Relies upon guidance and training from supervisor and more experienced colleagues. Significant support and feedback provided by supervisor including well structured work assignments. Limited opportunity to exercise discretion. Typically Interacts with immediate supervisor and work team or customers on routine matters.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate or equivalent. Certified Pharmacy Technician. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred
