The Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA) is the voice of the nation’s largest publicly owned metropolitan water systems on federal water policy issues. AMWA thrives in creating a community of water sector leaders to advance policies to protect public health and economic viability via safe, affordable, and sustainable drinking water.

AMWA is seeking a Manager, Database, Website, and Office Operations to join the team. This role will maintain all aspects of the website and support database(s).  This position will also provide administrative support functions to maintain the essential tasks and procedures vital to the operation of the association.  This position will report to the Director of Communications and Utility Management Programs.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Database

  • Serve as the database Administrator for Fonteva
  • Develop database procedures – create and maintain standard operating procedures
  • Maintain databases, including membership database in Fonteva
  • Aggregate data, provide synopsis, and tracking for staff as necessary
  • Assure data profiles are accurate, consistent, and current

2. Email communications

  • Maintain email database which requires data entry of information into Jangomail
  • Execute mass communication campaigns for newsletters, bulletins, surveys, etc.
  • Route incoming communications from website forms and general email address
  • Answer general inquiries that come through email and telephone calls as necessary

3. Website

  • Maintain database and issue access credentials
  • Assist in the development and post content staff members, marketing team, etc.
  • Oversee operation and troubleshoot problems
  • Maintain website functionality and interact with vendor
  • Update website regularly, including keeping home page feature, conferences and events, and other landing page content fresh

4. Office support

  • Serve as front desk operations/receptionist which requires greeting guests, accepting and sending mailings and deliveries, sorting mail, and answering phone
  • Assist Office Manager with vendor form completion; weekly bank deposits; filing; and invoicing
  • Order supplies, stock kitchen, and maintain office machines
  • Help prepare for conferences, including copying, sorting, and packing materials; scheduling outgoing and returning shipments; and replenishing supplies

5.  Miscellaneous duties and special projects as assigned

Education and Experience:

Education:

  • BA or BS in business or office management or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional office operations experience
  • Progressive education or experience in website operations specifically Drupal and WordPress, programming, database management, especially Fonteva, and management preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of business operations, office machines, filing systems, archival systems, website set up and logic, computer set up and logic, email systems (Jangomail and Google), WORD, Excel, Fonteva database software, basic source code understanding, survey logic
  • Ability to plan and organize work; coordinate and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions; aggregate multiple data sets into one
  • Ability to greet the public; work on multiple tasks concurrently, meet varying and changing deadlines; take direction from multiple people
  • Translate job tasks into easy-to-understand directions for others
  • Develop projects from a user experience understanding, anticipate needs and the direction project tasks evolve into
  • Able to lift and carry boxes and supplies of at least 20 lbs
  • Work-related travel to attend local conferences or meetings several times per year

All AMWA staff are required to work in the D.C. office at least 2 days per week.

The pay range for this position is $31.00 per hour to $36.00 per hour.  Experience level and other factors will determine the final compensation level.
