Job Summary

WorkCare is searching for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the AP accounting department in a growing company. The successful candidate will be detailed oriented, proactive, resourceful, and be able to build strong relationships within the department and cross-functionally.

This position is responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and ensuring the accuracy of vendor accounts, invoice routing and input, and payments.

During the training period, the Accounts Payable Manager must work fully onsite from our corporate headquarters in Anaheim to get acquainted with the team and processes. After training, this role will work a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 remote).


Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the AP team and manage day-to-day operations.
  • Distribute the workload to the AP team.
  • Liaison between the AP function, operations and vendors.
  • Responsible for the vendor master management in the Company's ERP system.
  • Review invoices to be processed for payment.
  • Review and approve coding of invoices.
  • Reconcile Vendor Aging.
  • Resolve payments and billing issues with vendors, as necessary. Propose process improvement changes.
  • Support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close, including management of the monthly close calendar deadlines related to accounts payable.
  • Annual 1099 tax reporting.
  • Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by Controller for the efficient operation of WorkCare.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
    • A bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
    • 3-5 years' of accounts payable supervisory experience or in related area.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Must be able to demonstrate the ability of maintaining privacy and confidentiality; critical thinking skills; ability to manage multiple priorities; must have the ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports; ability to multi-task, with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • The employee shall demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, managers, and clients at all times.
    • The ability to create and edit written materials; ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences; the skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities; strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer Skills
    • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.
    • Experience with Sage Intacct and AP Routing software are a plus.
  • Physical Demands
    • Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
    • Some bending and stretching could be required.
    • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
    • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
    • Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
    • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Work Environment
    • Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
    • The noise level is usually moderate.
    • Air quality is good and temperature is controlled.

Additional Job Information

This is a full-time position that will work Monday-Friday. Core business hours are 8:00am-5:00pm PST.

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$97,000 per year. Compensation offered to the final candidate within this range depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications. For example, a candidate at the top end of the salary range has extensive experience as an AP Manager or Director.
