You must currently be a Coach Operator Instructor to be considered

As Coach Operator Instructor Lead, you will direct, prioritize, and oversee the daily activity of assigned Coach Operator Instructors and Coach Operator Trainees. You will develop curriculum for trainers and trainees and assure the quality and effectiveness of classroom training. This is a "working lead" position, and you will lead or assist in completing work assignments and projects as necessary to meet agency goals.















Essential Duties









    Participate in prioritizing, planning, and scheduling instructors for new hire coach operator training, refresher coach operator training, post-accident training, enterprise program projects and other assignments. Make recommendations to the Program Manager to ensure all assigned staff are correctly trained, equipped and able to complete each assigned task in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. Answer staff questions, solve problems, and report any need for corrective action.
  1. Monitor and report staff work performance for quality and productivity, providing the Manager with data related to staffing needs.
  2. Review staff timecards, vacation and absence requests and other company information for completeness and accuracy for final approval by the Manager.
  3. Develop and effectively present curriculum for training instructors, trainees, and other staff.
  4. Develop and maintain Coach Operator Instructor standard operating procedures.
  5. Demonstrates platform presentation skills.
  6. Perform all essential duties of Coach Operator instructor as necessary.
  7. Performs other duties of a similar nature, as assigned.














Requirements









Minimum Qualifications

  • Three years of experience as a full-time regular Coach Operator Instructor at Community Transit.
  • Currently hold the position of Coach Operator Instructor (regular).
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • WA State Class B Commercial Driver's License (with Passenger endorsement and airbrake restriction removed).
  • DOT Medical Certification Card.
  • Not more than 2 moving violations within the last 5 years and no citable accidents within the last five years. (Driving abstract not required)
  • No written disciplinary action on file in the last 2 years.
  • No preventable accidents that resulted in disciplinary action in the last 2 years.

Knowledge Requirements

  • Mentoring or teaching groups of people.
  • Public speaking techniques.
  • Community Transit routes and operations.
  • State and federal laws and regulations regarding motor vehicles and public transportation.

Working Conditions

80 to 90% of your work will be performed in an office environment and requires you to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. You will be required to move throughout and between different office buildings and may need to complete tasks in noisy environments. You will be required to lift and carry training materials and supplies up to 20 pounds. Conducting presentations may require standing and walking for sustained periods of time.
