Position Summary The Manager, Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Living Spaces Driver operations. Will create work schedules, transportation routes for drivers to pick up and drop containers to assigned locations. Will manage the maintenance and repair of the company vehicles to ensure that these vehicles are in safe and working order.

Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work closely with load planning to keep the drivers under dispatches that minimize delays and fully utilize the drivers' time

  • Work closely with safety & risk team to swiftly respond to any accident or incident.

  • Route drivers in for scheduled training or counseling. Stress the importance of the coaching session with the driver

  • Work closely with safety & risk to proactively manage all compliance related functions

  • Ensure all compliance measurements are met, provide reporting and guidance on ways to improve (CSA Score, Accidents, Injuries, Inspections, etc.)

  • Partner with the Director on the purchase of vehicles needed to expand or enhance the fleet

  • Schedule all regular maintenance on vehicles including ordering urgent or emergency repairs as needed

  • Manage vehicle licensure and registration

  • Providing reports to management on budgeting, schedules, maintenance and fleet progress

  • Developing methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency

  • In collaboration with other managers, develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for transportation operations

  • Manage multi-site activities including driver performance, safety, compliance in accordance with DOT regulations

  • Monitors driver's activity throughout the day to ensure deliveries are completed, productivity and safety measures are achieved, and any and all issues are resolved before the end of the day

  • Provide excellent leadership to a group of our hardworking drivers in a fast- paced environment

  • Build trusting relationships with drivers and make the most productive use of their available hours of service to deliver

  • Accountable for fielding calls from drivers and working one-on-one to solve problems with creative solutions

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) or equivalent from four-year college in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field. 5 years of experience in transportation, fleet or logistics environment. 3 years of experience in a leadership role in a high-performance organization managing a sizable fleet operation and/or supply chain organization. Must have current working knowledge of relevant equipment, regulations, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, and DOT compliant operation for the protection of our team, data and property. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficient in Microsoft 365 including, Excel, Word, and SharePoint.

Certificates and Licenses: Class A License

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will directly manage a team. Develop and execute the company's business strategies in order to attain the goals of the board and shareholders. Provide strategic advice so direct reports will have accurate view of the market and the company's future. Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate. Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are followed at all times. Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners, and authorities. Able to delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of direct reports providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance.

Position Hiring Range

The hiring pay range provides a guide for what we would reasonably pay for the position. Pay will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant's education, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Living Spaces reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Pay is determined by various factors including market demand, applicable skills, work experience and education, location, company budget, and in-demand skill sets.

Compensation: $73,800.00 - $98,400.00

Retail, Guest Services, and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive team bonus based on meeting specific goals and KPI's.
