About the Job:


The position of Sales Manager, Chemicals is responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities, driving sales activities, and delivering successful sales results, while becoming a trusted advisor and consultative partner to clients. The Sales Manager, Chemical, is responsible for achieving assigned net revenue goals by acquiring new logo customers by cross selling Odysseys chemical logistics services and solutions.



In This Role, You Will:



  • Meet assigned net revenue goals for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives through new logo client acquisition.

  • Develop a sales plan and execute relevant activities to reach and exceed established sales goals for new net revenue growth

  • Develop and maintain a qualified sales pipeline across Odysseys Logistics services

  • Utilize a consultative approach to driving conversations with the expectation of moving the prospective customer through the buying cycle and developing a formal and written sales solution for the purposes of closing business

  • Effectively communicate Odyssey Logistics and Technology's value proposition to prospective and current customers.

  • Build and strengthen business relationships with potential and existing customers for the purpose of promoting Odyssey Logistics portfolio of chemical logistics solutions.

  • Navigate complex buying committees - develop and maintain professional relationships with economic buyers and key executives within target accounts

  • Demonstrate understanding of contract, product & pricing parameters to successfully negotiate final terms with client, soliciting assistance from Sales Operations, Finance, Procurement and Management to address potential contract changes and associated risks.

  • Ensure familiarity with all of Odyssey's solutions and industry trends to effectively identify opportunities that arise during client meetings up through closing, distinguish Odyssey from its competition and deliver needs-based solutions

  • Accurately update and forecast opportunities and maintain notes within Salesforce

  • Drive results and success by conveying the appropriate sense of urgency while driving issues to closure

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to remove roadblocks, track and resolve client objections, and solve problems

  • All other duties and projects as assigned.



Qualifications

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.

  • Proven track record of success in a sales role within the logistics or supply chain industry.

  • 5+ Years of logistics sales and relationship management experience with large public or private sector chemical manufacturing organizations.

  • Closer

  • Ability to "think outside the box" and create innovative solutions for a client's logistics and supply chain needs.

  • Multi-modal experience in TL, LTL, Bulk, Rail, and small parcel.

  • Experience in hazmat chemical transportation and services.

  • Basic understanding of the chemical distribution industry trends and issues.

  • Knowledge of sales cycle, from initial prospecting through closing.

  • Ability to prepare financial proposals for new business opportunities.

  • Ability to identify issues/roadblocks and be proactive in development of solutions.

  • Ability to drive high levels of collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience in complex contract negotiations with both clients and legal counsel.

  • Ability to present a professional image with effective networking and people skills.

  • 5+ years' experience with proven major account sales experience in chemical logistics services.

  • Strong relationship management skills, with proven results in generating business growth.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication & presentation capabilities.

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Knowledge of , PowerPoint, Excel and other MS Office products are essential for this position.

  • Ability to travel as necessary.
