POSITION SUMMARY:

Manage, guide, and develop all Supply Chain functions within materials and production planning and factory warehouse to meet production and business needs at required performance levels and at optimized costs. This is done through the tools and methodology of NCE focused heavily on building a Lean function as part of the total Lean Enterprise.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage, guide, and develop the factory supply chain teams to ensure:

  • Ensure good warehousing practices for raw & packaging material and for finished goods. Accurately records the inventory and checks inventory rotation, controls and co-ordinates all documents relevant to receipt and dispatch of goods. Establish KPI business objectives.
  • Ensure smooth operations by effective communication and close collaboration with all internal partners at factory, Supply Chain, Procurement and external partners as Suppliers, Customs and Transport providers.
  • Detailed Production Scheduling is consistently delivering achievable plans within given Master Production Schedule, while minimizing production costs.
  • Material Management Planning (Inbound Material Management) makes raw & packaging material available on time and quality at best overall costs for seamless manufacturing; co-ordinates with suppliers of raw and packaging materials for maintaining service levels while constantly seeking improvement possibilities.
  • Support and participate in Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Total Performance Management (TPM) as a part of their job responsibility within their Business Unit or as assigned within the factory. LEAN source leader for the site.
  • Collaborate with peer factory Supply Chain managers to share best practices, Liaise with Lean Champion, Supply Chain, Procurement, Factory Management and Application Group to drive continuous Improvement.
  • Ensures the factory has a solid, reliable, and qualified supplier base.
  • Develops budget and maintains performance plans.
  • Maintains a safe working environment.
  • Development of careers, succession plans, development of coaching of factory supply chain personnel.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • BS/BA degree (preferably in an Industrial Engineering, Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management or Business Management) highly preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment with responsibility for Logistics or Supply Chain Management, including vendor management.
  • Firm understanding of manufacturing and distribution processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles and processes.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of direct management experience in supply chain operations highly preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in leading teams highly preferred.
  • Operations and manufacturing experience is required, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of automation a plus.
  • Basic understanding of the following topics: inbound materials management; detailed production planning; material handling; impact of stock levels on working capital and freshness; trade-offs within Supply Chain; LEAN principles and Value Stream Processes; Safety, Health, and Environment; Quality principles; regulations/ Best Practices
  • Intermediate understanding of best practices including supply planning development, business strategy, budget management, and cost analysis; evaluation and management of investment requirements; promotion and product customization processes; transportation management; innovation/renovation; new product launches; overall business environment and industry specific trends.

SKILLS:

  • Ability to effectively manage relationships based on an open communication and achievement of common objectives.
  • Driving a continuous improvement culture based on performance management and implementation of projects.
  • People development and coaching
  • Planning skills with an ability to consider likely business issues and impacts proactively.
  • SAP and/or ERP systems highly preferred
