MaintenanceJob Summary:

The Mechanical Engineering Planner is accountable for providing technical mechanical planning support to the Port Neal Engineering Department. This position is responsible for planning engineered work requests and ordering of all required materials and services.

Job Description:

Key Job Elements

  • Provide detailed and accurately planned job packages for the repair and improvement of plant equipment. Job plans must satisfy the work request scope and include all materials, services, tools, resources, as well as cost and schedule estimates.

  • Obtain accurate quotes for materials and services that require direct purchase.

  • Use the site CMMS to efficiently order materials and services for every planned work order.

  • Create and maintain bill of materials (BOMs) for all planned jobs.

  • Schedule and lead job plan discussions with all stakeholders.

  • Maintain and update a Preventative Maintenance (PM) Work Order program.

  • Periodically work unit turnarounds and outages. This includes planning, coordinating and other lead roles.

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED with 5 years of Mechanical Planner experience in chemical manufacturing, refining, or oil and gas industries.

  • Strong ability to interpret mechanical equipment drawings, specifications, and QA/QC requirements.

  • Knowledge and experience with troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of mechanical plant equipment.

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, handle multiple projects and changing priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all departments and levels of the organization.

  • Must be able to enter plant operating sites utilizing ladders and platforms in excess of 100 feet, enter confined spaces, and utilize all required personal protective equipment.

  • Experience with Front End Loading (FEL) engineering process and Management of Change (MOC) preferred.
