SUMMARY:

The Parts Counterperson is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:30pm

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One year certificate from college / technical school
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company insurability standards.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications preferred
  • Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist Certification preferred


ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Must have a good working knowledge of part numbers and part usage and understand applications for use.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Determine method and mode of shipment to customer requirements.
  • Prepares and expedites shipments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Proper operation of equipment to safety and productivity requirements, including but not limited to: Lift truck or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment is required. Operate all machinery, tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Advise parts manager if there is anything in need of repair.
  • Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Able to receive and process all defective parts returned for replacement or credit (RMA). Check in and stock parts inventory and ensure accuracy.
  • Corresponds with inventory control regarding any damages/shortages (any claims).
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Pick-up and deliver parts or raw materials to/from our suppliers using a company van as requested.
  • Adhere to and promote all existing health and safety policies in the workplace to reinforce the Hunter culture of a safe work environment
