The Flight Simulator Instructor reports directly to the KC-130J Lead Instructor.
RESPONSIBILTIES AND DUTIES:
Proficient in conducting all aspects of the Fleet Replacement Detachment, Cherry Point and Fleet Squadron syllabi for flight training on KC-130J flight simulator Flight training will include but not limited to aircraft systems, operating procedures, tactical employment of the KC-130J aircraft which will include briefs and debriefs of training event Assist in teaching, updating and maintenance of related curriculum syllabi which will include but not limited to: Instructor lesson guides, Simulator Scenarios, computer-based training, and classroom lectures. Evaluate and record student training/mission performance; evaluate and record trainer performance in accordance with established criteria. Assist in training device testing/evaluation associate with the introduction of new weapon systems or Engineering Change Proposal as they affect the training system. Requires mental alertness and acute concentration for long periods of time during training scenarios. Ability to handle stressful training environments. Must present a professional appearance in demeanor and dress at all times. Perform other tasks as designated by the KC-130J Site Manager. This position is located in Iwakuni, Japan: must be willing to relocate. This position will not require flying; however, the ideal candidate must have pilot experience. REQUIREMENTS:
Flight Simulator Instructor for the KC-130J must be or have been a Naval Air Training Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) qualified Basic Instructor Pilot (BIP) or have been a simulator instructor pilot within the preceding five (5) years for the KC-130J. Must have a minimum of one (1) Fleet tour Must have completed a minimum of seven hundred and fifty (750) flying hours in the KC-130J aircraft. Have been designated as an Assistant NATOPS Instructor. Weapons and Tactics Instructor or Fleet Replacement Squadron Instructor is highly preferred. The applicant must be a US citizen, possess the ability to obtain a US passport. Applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to receive and maintain a minimum of a SECRET clearance for access to classified information. Physical ability to walk, stand and sit for extended periods of time (4 hours), be able to climb 2 flights of stairs, to climb open graded ladders for cockpit access, to lift and carry 50 pounds. Must be willing to relocate to Iwakuni, Japan. CERTIFICATIONS:
A Flight Simulator Instructor shall successfully complete all the following: NATOPS Open Book, Closed Book, and boldface exams. Annual renewal NATOPS qualification with the scheduling authority. Annual check/standardization (STAN) flight in the KC-130J simulator (WST) and in a classroom environment while providing academic instruction. STAN checks will be conducted at the Instructor/Operator Station (I/OS) during regularly scheduled training events during scheduled Contracted Training Time (CTT). Annual training requirements in accordance with (IAW) the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP), in order to facilitate required training on actual aircraft in a non-flying status; and Demonstrated Instructor-level knowledge and understanding of KC-130J: A Flight Simulator Instructor shall understand and demonstrate knowledge of KC-130J mission, Crew procedures, Aircraft maintenance procedures, Aircraft passenger and cargo loading/offloading procedures, Aircraft aerial delivery procedures, Tactics, Night Vision Devices (NVD) and threat systems, Fleet Replacement Pilot (FRP) syllabi, Curriculum change forms, and the ability to instruct and utilize JMPS is desired. Essential Functions

Assists in towing aircraft as required, ensuring safe movement on the airportgrounds.
Learns the trade of aircraft refueling, to include how to operate fuel trucks andassociated components, measure fuel quantities in storage, check fuel quality,assist in receiving fuel shipments, coordinating fuel orders with flight schooldispatch, and interacting with pilots and passengers.
Operates and becomes familiar with ground support equipment, such as the aircraft tug,ground power unit (GPU), lavatory service cart, de-icing cart, forklift, golf cart, UTV, andairport shuttles.
Ensures standard operating procedures are followed, utilizing detailed checklists tomaintain accuracy and consistency.
Trains, coaches, and mentors new hires.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be able to work flexible hours and to work on select weekends, all football game Saturdays, select special events, and select afterhours callouts.
Airport Line Service Technicians that serve on the Flight School Fueling Crew must be able to work 6.5-hour shifts, three days a week (including Saturdays), as assigned.
Expectations:
Must be able communicate effectively in person, over the phone, over a radio system, and in written correspondence.
Student workers would need to keep these shift requirements in mind when setting up class schedules.
