The squadron covers an extremely wide array of programs on 8 different C-130 variants requiring constant training/improvement/upgrades to prepare for test execution. -\tKnowledge of flight safety, government flight representative duties, and briefing leadership and/or the squadron on upcoming events or previously accomplished programs to name a few possibilities.-\tExperience supporting test of various C-130 variants and working as part of a close team with our customers, developing the next generation of C-130 capabilities.

-\tDevelopment of test plans, test cards, and reports and ability to serve as an expert on the aircraft, and flight operations.96TH TEST WING MISSION: We test and evaluate state-of-the-art weapon systems, provide quality installation and mission support, and serve as responsible stewards of our resources to deliver war-winning capabilities.PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Chief Test Pilot, C-130 Test Programs and an instructor flight test pilot within the 417 Flight Test Squadron. The incumbent directs activities and manages resources and processes responsible for the effective employment and utilization of Squadron aerospace vehicles and implements policy and procedures of aircrew personnel performing flight test operations and test support activities.Major Duties:-\tC-130 Test Pilot – Serve as test pilot, instructor and evaluator pilot to conduct ground and flight test, currency, upgrade and evaluation missions on C-130 aircraft.-\tProject Aircrew – lead groups to develop and execute plans for C-130 test programs as well as programs supported by C-130 operations.-\tOperations – provide daily oversight, management and problem resolution of squadron wide flight test operations and coordination with outside agencies.-\tAircrew Training – routine participation in the advancement of pilotage skills and knowledge. Lead, attend, or provide instruction for C-130 qualification and mission elements.-\tInnovation – continuously adapts processes and techniques as required to accomplish safe and efficient flight testing.Qualifications/Requirements:-\tU.S.

Citizenship -\tObtain & maintain security clearance.-\tThis is a designated Drug Testing Position-\t1750 Total hours flight time required.-\t1150 hours pilot-in-command required.-\t100 Hours night flying required.-\t100 Hours flying time in last 12 months required.-\tTechnical bachelor’s degree.-\tMust be able to pass a pre-employment and flight physical.-\tTen years of military pilot rated officer experience with active military flight experience within the last 4 years is highly desirable.-\tGraduate of a sanctioned Test Pilot course or school OR C-130 instructor qualification/experience is required.-\tSpecial Operations C-130 experience is highly desired.-\tEvaluator pilot experience and Functional Check Flight experience is desired.-\tIn-depth knowledge of USAF aircraft operations, aircrew training, aircrew standardization and evaluation, aerospace resource management, aerospace test and evaluation, and aircrew personnel equipment and survival training is required.-\tAbility to conduct developmental C-130 flight test at the most critical test conditions of loading, speed, maneuvering, and configuration.-\t Ability to determine maximum limits of safe aircraft operation and aerodynamic stability where a substantial degree of hazard exists.Click apply to complete an application and upload your resume (PDF format only) and supporting documents (Transcripts, certifications, etc.). **IMPORTANT** Please name your resume “Last Name, First Name Resume” to ensure timely review by the selection team.
