PURPOSE STATEMENT:

This position will provide leadership and supervision for all day-to-day Distribution operations. It is the key liaison between Distribution, Customer Service, Operations, Procurement, and Transport groups. It has direct accountability for administrator, lead-hand and material-handler personnel within our Oak Creek, WI facilities (North and South Plants)


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Create weekly workflow schedules to balance labour and meet volume requirements that will driver maximum performance and shipment velocity.
  • Responsible for all Heath & Safety activities within the department. Continually communicate with team the importance of safety especially when it comes to co-workers, equipment, racking systems, shipping/receiving doors, dock plates and yard, in accordance with Furlani and OSHA standards
  • Ensure the "Warehouse Daily Pre-shift Inspection Sheet" is completed and take necessary action when potential hazards are identified
  • Assist with cleanliness and upkeep of warehouse/freezer and dock areas
  • Responsibility for the performance management and development of the Administrator, Supervisors, the Lead-hands and other Staff in this area
  • Coach and mentor, the Distribution team
  • Manage warehouse technology including RF, packing systems, shipping systems, and forklift operations.
  • Develop and implement KPI's/metrics for all dock employees to measure employee productivity and effectiveness.
  • Work and implement continuous improvement projects as directed
  • Valid Lift Truck Licenses required- Reach & Counter-Balance (Standing & Sitting Trucks)
  • Local travel between North or South facilities as needed to fill voids of vacation/time off.
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Schedule and organize meetings, prepare agendas, and distribute minutes.

Requirements

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

  • Previous management or supervisory experience in warehousing or distribution highly desired.
  • Food Safety training desired

EDUCATION:

  • High school or equivalent
  • Additional designation or certification preferred

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years of managerial experience working with a team of 20+
  • Strong leadership and employee management skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with individuals and in a group setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively within a diverse team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to proactively exercise judgment and use analytical skills to generate productive outcomes
  • Proven organizational, planning and priority-setting skills
  • Be action oriented and provide leadership to employees
  • Need to demonstrate self-confidence and self-preservation
  • Self-driven and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to work in a logical, systematic manner and have common sense
  • Proficiency in English both in written and oral communication
  • Advanced Computer knowledge
  • Good knowledge of advanced mathematical skills
  • Computer experience is needed. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required.

Work environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, heat and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

An office space; working computer, telephone, desk, and chair as needed to complete administrative tasks. Enter and work within temperature controlled environments of -10 to 85 degrees. Some assignments may involve exposure to noise, chemicals, biohazards, and various forms of radiation. Some assignments could be extremely dangerous in the event of dizziness, loss of consciousness, or loss of balance. Working conditions are normal for a plant manufacturing food. Food safety practices are followed and upheld to the full extent. Work will involve lifting of raw materials, finished cases of bread, and ingredients. All employees will be required to wear a slip resistant safety steel toe shoe.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Furlani Foods (FF) operates three, eight-ten hour shifts, 7 days a week. Days and hours of work are Sunday - Saturday. Days of work are subject to change based on business needs. The Project Coordinator is expected to work the necessary number of hours to ensure all department demands are met and provide coverage on the off shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd) to manage personnel on the off shifts.
