What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are looking for a dedicated and energetic individual to join our Facilities Management team as a Facilities Technologist (Job Title Facilities Technologist SE) to directly support and / or oversee the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of Facilities HVAC Control systems. Work may include developing building control strategies, technical review of Facilities HVAC controls design packages, programming and troubleshooting of HVAC control systems, support to Facilities Engineers and Facilities Maintenance, and commissioning of new and upgraded HVAC systems. Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite. On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Review blueprints, schematics, drawings for the purpose of determining efficient controls methods and ensure all work for new or upgraded control systems complies with relevant codes and regulations

  • Coordinate with other trades/contractors/internal customer, HVAC technicians for the purpose of troubleshooting, and completing projects/work orders in an efficient manner

  • Install, test, program new control systems and/or repair existing controls systems

  • Complete detailed inspection reports documenting issues/deficiencies

  • Assist Facilities Engineering with new controls sequencing, review, and approval of controls design documents for new construction or modification of existing facilities.

  • Assist with writing the programs necessary for the operation of facility type systems, predominately heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems (HVAC)

  • Work as a team member during design and construction of new facilities including start-up and commissioning and troubleshooting of industrial HVAC systems

Qualifications We Require:

  • High school diploma plus five (5) or more years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in one or more of the following: (1) Knowledge of direct digital control (DDC) and pneumatic/electric control systems for HVAC and facilities operations, (2) Operations and troubleshooting of building HVAC systems

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance

  • Valid driver's license

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Knowledge and understanding of DDC Control systems; and the required computer skills necessary to effectively perform programming and troubleshooting

  • Writing code for the operation of DDC controls for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems; Chillers; Boilers; Air Handling Units; and other associated mechanical sub-systems

  • Experience in computer network systems

  • Experience programming Siemens software for building automation control, specifically related to the Siemens APOGEE and/or Siemens Desigo systems

  • Experience operating and troubleshooting advanced building HVAC systems
