Material Handler - Clamp Driver **Sign on Bonus** (6AM to 2:30PM)


Summary of Job


The Clamp Truck Operator's main job function is to operate a diesel, propane, or gasoline engine powered clamp truck to transport materials on shop floor in accordance with work order tickets or verbal instruction from, Supervisors and or management, and to load and unload trucks with materials or product. The Clamp Truck Operator provides support to the supply chain and production lines through collecting, loading, shipping and receiving warehouse products. Other types of equipment include: Electric Jack, Strapping tools, hammers, pry bars, and other miscellaneous hand tools.



Essential Functions and Responsibilities


The right candidate will lead their job with a strong safety mindset including but not limited to:



  • Assist production lines with infeed and outfeed of materials and finish goods.



  • Position loads on the floor in accordance with staging areas.



  • Perform daily inspections on the clamp truck in use to determine the need for repairs that may include checking horns, lights, safety belts, fuel, oil, lubricants, cooling the system, and motor tune-up.



  • Keep updated records of inventory, weight, and activity logs.



  • Perform cycle counts as required.



  • Move materials and items from receiving and storage areas to other designated areas.



  • Maintain and rotate inventory of stock products.



  • Assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves.



  • Ensure customers receive products in accordance with the order, packing and delivery requirements.



  • Maintain efficient and effective production standards.



  • Utilize barcode scanners and Warehouse Management Systems as required.



  • Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by the company.



  • Use wireless RF scanning equipment to ensure accuracy of inventory.



  • Perform quality checks on inbound and outbound goods.

  • Ensure that all company safety procedures are followed to include OSHA compliance guidelines.


*Abide by all company rules and policies regarding conduct and safety.


*Drive safe, this includes looking in the direction of travel, wearing required PPE, wearing a seatbelt, driving at appropriate speeds, and appropriate use of horns.



Competency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)


*Knowledge of various material-handling equipment an asset.


*Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace.


*Good math, language, reading skills.


*Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills.


*Excellent teamwork skills.


*Knowledge of warehouse arrangement and functionality.



Environment



  • Exposure to moving equipment

  • Inside work

  • Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit

  • Humidity may exceed 80%

  • Noise may exceed 85dB+



Physical Characteristics



  • Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%

  • (up to 60 pounds)

  • Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice- assisted as needed.



Position Type



  • Full time


Education and Experience



  • Minimum: 1 year of experience operating a Clamp Truck.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
