Classification Title Service/Maintenance Worker FLSA Non-Exempt FTE 1.00 Minimum Qualifications Requires are least a high school diploma or equivalent. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications. Preferred Qualifications Position Summary Transport passengers with registered disabilities in an accessible van to and from various campus locations in accordance with applicable laws and department procedures. Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle as necessary. Inspect vehicle before, during, and after shift to ensure vehicle is in proper operating condition. Complete necessary paperwork, including timesheets and vehicle condition reports. Operates other vehicle equipment such as electronic AVL equipment and wheelchair ramps. Be trained to occasionally fill in at the front office answering phones and scheduling ADA pickups and drop-offs using TransLoc software. Be trained to occasionally drive library van route service between Athens and Atlanta. Occasional charters and special assignments. Incumbents will submit to pre-hire and random drug and alcohol testing by the US Department of Transportation. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Communication skills and the ability to work with people of various backgrounds, physical, emotional, developmental disabilities, and skill levels.
