NOW HIRING Drivers - Full time

Salary: From $15.00 per hour

ComTrans has been in business for over 25 years, and are looking for YOU to join our team. We need full and part time driver's pay starting at $15.00 per hour, vehicle provided, great benefits, paid time off, 401k with match, several levels of medical/dental/vision plans available to choose from, free life insurance and short and long term disability insurance. You are not a self-contracted driver but an employee of ComTrans.

The Crisis Driver will contribute to the profitable growth of ComTrans by providing a high level of customer service through responsiveness, timeliness and client safety.

This position provides transportation services to behavioral health care patients from their homes, hospitals and other various locations. Drivers are responsible for maintaining accurate and complete paperwork. In addition, drivers are responsible for the care of ComTrans property (includes radio, map books, car seats, vehicles, etc.). ComTrans is a safety sensitive company.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Graduate or equivalent-preferred but not required, EMT or CNA a plus

Age: All ComTrans employees must be at least 18 years old, all driving positions are required to be at least 21 years old as required by insurance. Exceptions may be made for non-driving positions on a case-by-case basis and dependent upon the position and its responsibilities.

Experience: Background in EMS or Behavioral Health a plus

Licensing/Registration/Certification

Valid Arizona driver's license.

Approved by our insurance company as a driver.

Certification in at least one of the following preferred: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Caregiver Certification.

Company Provided Training/Certifications

Have or be able to obtain a level one fingerprint clearance card.

First Aid/CPR

Crisis Prevention and Intervention.

Complete ComTrans Driver Certification Training Program.

Complete ComTrans certification program to operate a vehicle with a design of 8 or more passengers.

Certified as a wheelchair driver.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Subject to extreme temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour at times

Outside in all types of weather, going to and from vehicle.

Ability to work and deal with difficult clients while maintaining composure.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, climb stairs/steps, escort clients to and from destination, kneel, crouch, reach and extend arms.

Able to grasp objects such as steering wheel, car seats, etc.

Sit in a driving or sitting position from 1 to up to 12 hours.

Able to get in and out of vehicles multiple times per day.

Assisting students/clients in and out of the vehicle multiple times each day.

Able to bend, kneel and secure wheelchairs and clients multiple times per day.

Ability to lift or move at least 40 pounds.

Ability to carry, lift and install child seats into vehicles and secure children into child seats.

Able to perform vehicle pre and post trip inspections daily and on any vehicle.

Able to work in a variety of environments; inside and outside, able to tolerate a variety of climate changes and conditions,

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports directly to Program Manager for Crisis

AUTHORITY:

Utilize the gas card to fill up vehicles for business use only.

Vehicle and radio usage for business purposes only.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of this position consist of, however not limited to, the following:

Be knowledgeable of the entire Crisis Drivers' operation, including the use of vehicles, mapping and car seats.

Be knowledgeable of Crisis Driver Guide.

Ensure all vehicles have required supplies:

Vehicle Binders

Phone charger

Fire extinguishers

Car Seats

Protective gloves and HEPA masks

Maintain a safety work attitude; utilizing defensive driver techniques by following ComTrans' defensive driver safety guidelines. This includes

Providing patient/client care and securely handling patients by using the proper safety procedures.

Properly secure wheelchairs when applicable.

Utilize Crisis Prevention Intervention Training when necessary.

Be knowledgeable and follow the rules of child restraints.

Provide high customer service within ComTrans and with all clients. Maintain a professional and respectful attitude to our clients, their families, case managers and vendors.

Assist PD on domestic violence calls.

Assist clients to and from detox facility.

Be knowledgeable on the proper usage of protective equipment and supplies.

Complete Vehicle Checkoffs prior to the start of shift.

Ensure the assigned vehicle is clean on the inside and out. Pick-up trash prior to returning to the vehicle.

Maintain a smoke-free environment in company vehicles and at ComTrans office. (Includes clients and ComTrans employees).

On-going communications with Network Dispatch as needed.

Be knowledge of Maricopa County.

Attendants are responsible for the care of the patient during the trip. Filling out appropriate paperwork including proper documentation for billing, signature and any other supplemental forms.

Follow procedures on proper decontamination of the unit and equipment.

Follow ComTrans Driver's Dress Code.

Ensure all paperwork is complete, accurate and turned in at the end of the working day.

Understand and follow ComTrans policies and procedures, as stated in Employee Handbook and/or in communications with management.

Other duties as assigned.

MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE:

The Crisis Driver Manager will evaluate the performance of the Crisis Driver Manager using the following criteria:

Responsiveness and smooth operation of client pick-ups.

Timeliness and accuracy of paperwork.

Maintains compliance with safety standards.

The activities of the Crisis Drivers have been consistent with company policies, established procedures, and the directives of the Operations Manager.

Assigned vehicles and vehicle supplies are in satisfactory operating condition.

Responsiveness to client issues and concerns.

High level of customer service.

Relationship with other Network Dispatch, peers, clients and vendors.
