TheLogistics Coordinator - Intern will be a critical part of theAlbany Terminals team, reporting to the Rail Manager of Terminal Operations. In this role you will be responsible for keeping records of all shipments (rail, marine and sometimes truck) both loaded and unloaded at numerous Global facilities within the network, tracking all rail, marine and truck shipments. Reporting project plan dates, arrivals, delays etc. As well as other tasks assigned by terminal manager.

"Gauges" of Responsibility

  • Record and maintain records of all shipments (rail, marine and truck) both loaded and unloaded at numerous Global facilities within the network

  • Track of all rails, marine and, truck shipments.

  • Report ETAs, project plan dates, actual arrivals, delays, etc. to (Operations, Supply, Marketing accounting and billing) and to outside companies (CP, Barge companies and inspection companies)

  • Assist legitimizing or disputing CP invoicing for demurrage or any other extraneous billing that may occur with the use of recordkeeping and event logs.

  • Keep track of all bad orders and coordinate with Rescar and RPMG to get cars repaired and billed out to correct destination. If cars cannot be repaired coordinate with RPMG to apply home shop decals for OTMA's. Coordinate with RPMG for 1987 placards

  • Daily inventory tracking and projected inventory to assist the Operations and Supply group with scheduling to keep the pipeline "wet".

  • Daily communication with the terminal, operations group management and Supply group as to what is going in throughout the day, week, month.

  • Maintain constant commination with (railroads, shippers, suppliers, Barge companies, inspection companies, etc.).

  • Forecast any possible issues (delays, too low or too high inventory levels, railroad blockades, etc.) and notify Sid, on specifically affected terminal and the supply group to plan around issues.

  • Various administrative duties as required.
