Honda Aircraft Company Description

General Summary:


The Material Services Buyer is part of the Customer Service organization's Inventory Management team, which supports the HondaJet world-wide customer base, the HondaJet global service network, and the HACI Service Center operations. This person will be responsible for purchasing assigned materials and/or services from approved and qualified suppliers to support required delivery dates.


Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Works with internal customers to understand business requirements and ensure compliance with company's procurement policies. Executes purchase orders and edits purchase orders.


2. Analyzes and evaluate quotations to recommend and implement cost strategies while assuring compliance within bid requirements.


3. Reviews purchase requisitions for accuracy.


4. Issues RFQ and track responses.


5. Communicates to suppliers purchase requirements, purchase order changes, delivery, cost and order prioritization.


6. Prepares supporting documents and materials during the procurement process.


7. Maintains accurate purchasing files in compliance with company record keeping policies and potential audit trails.


8. Resolves invoicing or receipt discrepancies.


9. Monitors and expedites deliveries on all customer service needs. Produce monthly metrics and present as needed.


10. Maintain strong internal cross functional communications and relationships.


11. Participate in and ensure daily team scheduling for (24/7) On-Call support coverage.


Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:


1. Bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as Supply Chain or Business Administration; 5-7 years experience in related technical field in lieu of a degree.


2. 3+ years experience in Supply Chain Management, or related operations.


3. Experience in aftermarket customer service preferred.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


1. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


2. Experience in SAP strongly preferred.


3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.


4. Strong detail oriented skills.


5. Good project management skills.


6. Ability to multitask and work with a sense of urgency in a fast paced environment.


7. Ability to work as scheduled, including weekends, evenings,and holidays as demand requires.


8. Ability to travel as required.


Physical Requirements:


1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.


2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.


3. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).


4. Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.


5. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.


6. Effectively communicate in Business English language.


7. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.


8. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
