General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The job entails unloading and moving incoming ingredients and materials to designated areas in the aquaculture feed warehouse or mill. The incumbent verifies counts against receiving reports and reports discrepancies to managers. They also load outgoing shipments accurately and maintain cleanliness and safety in warehouses. Additionally, they prepare UPS and LTL orders for shipment and assist with inventory duties.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Above-average math skills and proficiency in reading and writing.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Proficient forklift skills.
  • Preferred possession of a Commercial Driver's License.
  • Good physical condition, capable of lifting 55 lbs. from ground to shoulder level.

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Maintain warehouses and storage locations neatly organized, clean, and safe.
  • Load all outgoing shipments of all finished products and materials accurately and safely to minimize late deliveries and short shipments.
  • Operate forklifts safely and professionally on an as-needed basis.
  • Unload incoming shipments of ingredients and materials accurately and safely and store them in their assigned location promptly, minimizing overtime.
  • Perform quality tests as required on incoming shipments.
  • Compare the information on incoming shipments to the information on the receiving reports and bill of lading, and notify the purchasing manager of discrepancies before signing.
  • Assist with weekly and month-end inventories.
  • Assist with preparing products for UPS and LTL shipments.
  • Perform staging finished products and materials in preparation for shipments when required and before loading these items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the warehousing/shipping/receiving manager.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $15.10 - $20.26/hr. Wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for many benefits, such as vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
