Manager of Clinical Veterinary Research

Vaxxinova US is seeking an individual to join our team as a Manager of Clinical Veterinary Research in our Willmar, Minnesota office.

About the Manager of Clinical Veterinary Research Role:

The Manager of Clinical Veterinary Research is responsible for management and direct oversight to non-veterinarian research farm staff, interacting as a cross-functional scientific team, and involvement with scientific studies to improve animal health, using new and improved vaccine technologies. This position will have direct veterinary oversite of Vaxxinova’s three research farms, to include vet care to on-site research animals, assist in planning and execution of research trials, evaluation and reporting on clinical trial outcomes, and involvement in the safety, efficacy, and potency studies for USDA product licensing. This position requires travel between the research farms in Willmar and Worthington.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and completion of research animal trials. Ensure projects are conducted in compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards.
  • Lead and mentor research farm team and serve as a leader/member in a cross-functional scientific research team. Foster a collaborative and productive research environment.
  • Provide clinical veterinary input into research projects, including the design, execution, and analysis of clinical trials.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of research findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including academic institutions, industry partners, and regulatory bodies. Assist Vaxxinova US Sales Representatives with technical questions as requested.
  • Ensure all research activities comply with ethical standards and animal welfare regulations.
  • Stay abreast of developments in veterinary medicine and research methodologies. Incorporate innovative practices into research projects.
  • Lead contact for autogenous isolate selectin: Involved in the assessment and selection of isolates autogenous biologic production at Willmar site. Work with Vaxxinova teams to service customer needs in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Capabilities:

  • Deep understanding of data analysis and statistical methods
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Detail orientated with strong organizational skills
  • Written and verbal English communication skills to effectively work with and interact with a variety of stakeholders
  • Excellent presentation skills with ability to effectively present information to various audiences
  • Proven track record of managing research projects and teams
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to exhibit sound business judgement, be decisive, flexible, and have determination
  • Demonstrated ability to be a collaborative team player with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
  • Ability to travel regularly between Willmar and Worthington research farms
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical veterinary medicine and research
  • Must carry all licensure to meet UDSA, FDA, and state of MN compliance as onsite veterinarian
  • Must hold a valid U.S driver’s license and be authorized to work in the US

Experience/Educational Requirements:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) required
