Job Description

Visa U.S.A. Inc., a Visa Inc. company, needs a Software Engineer - Sr. Consultant Level (Multiple Openings) in Foster City, CA to :

• Work on the next generation tools development for frequent, independent, on demand releases from code commit to production.
• Work primarily on the DevOps process, which includes managing applications on Containers (Docker & Kubernetes), tool development based on JavaScript framework, integrating with many other technologies like Hadoop and Kafka and several inbuilt Visa utilities.
• The engineer helps to reduce release time to production and strengthen Site Reliability Engineering tools (SRE).
• Establish working relationships with one or more teams, providing assistance through the development cycle for any required changes to the tools & processes required to get a product released into test and production environments.
• Design, enhance and manage tools for continuous build, automated testing, and release management.
• Design and implement a scalable and efficient release process adopting best practices.
• Build and maintain tools needed for automated deployment in various certification environments.
• Work with the team to troubleshoot operational issues and develop tools for automation of the same.
• Utilize expert software engineering skills and extensive knowledge of Java, J2EE, and Database technologies.
• Take complete ownership and responsibility of the end-to-end automated deployments and testing.
• Responsible for integrating all the security scans into CICD pipeline.
• Create and maintain documentation of the build/release process.
• Position reports to the Foster City, California office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

• Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation.

• Containerization, including Kubernetes and Docker;
• Continuous Build & Deployment tools, including Jenkins;
• Software engineering, Tools engineering and/or configuration, including GIT, Maven, and Ansible;
• Database and Bigdata technologies including Spark, Hbase, Hive, and Kafka; and
• Java, J2EE, Spring, and Struts.

Additional Information

WORKSITE:  Foster City, CA

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: Domestic travel required 5% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $215,197.00 USD to $236,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
