Description

Company - a multi trade contractor specializing in the Mechanical, HVAC and Sheet Metal trades for both ICI

and residential sectors.

Role:

Title: Safety Coordinator

Hourly Salary: 55-57$+/HR - 44 hour weeks

Overtime: 82.5 – 85.5$/HR

Per diem: 140$/Day (for room & board)

Work day: 6 days per week (Sunday off) – potentially 60 hours/week

Location: Windsor Ontario

Reporting to: Senior Safety Manager

Audience: Superintendents, field personnel, trade partners and client representatives.

Project Duration: 12 months (after completion more work to come)


Key Performance Indicators

 Safety

 Compliance/Inspections/Reporting

 Clear lines of communication with internal/external resources

 Hazard assessment (predicting potential issues/assess/strategy/attack/remediate/alleviate issues impacting safety)


Mandate

 Promote and share the corporate safety program and culture.

 Deliver site-specific safety orientation to all personnel on the project.

 File, report, document, inspections

 Walk job site

 Proactive communication with Internal and external stakeholders

 Identify, assess, communicate potential future events that may affect adversely the project safety.

 Investigations

 Assist with project safety start up by writing plans and hazard assessments.

 Maintain the project safety board/centers.

 Conduct project safety inspections, communicate inspection results, and file reports.

 Conduct project hazard assessments, communicate hazards, and file reports.

 Write and deliver safety talks.

 Write, review, implement and communicate safe work plans and safe job procedures.

 Inspect first aid kit, fire extinguishers and other life saving devices on the project.

 Collect, review and file subtrade safety documentation.

 Where required, chair and host Joint Health & Safety Committee Meetings (type and distribute meeting

minutes).

 Where required, facilitate Worker Trade Committee Meetings (type and distribute meeting minutes).

 Act as a liaison between workers and management, clients, and visitors on safety related items.
