Purpose of the Job

The Environment Health and Safety Manager will implement policies to ensure a safe, healthy and compliant work environment. This position will be responsible for both facilities at the Aurora area for Sonova USA.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the local company locations. (AODC and 750)
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Experience

3+ years' experience in Environmental Health and Safety positions

Ability to communicate for written and verbally. Self-starter that needs little to no oversight

Team player, results orientation, able to collaborate across multiple functional teams

Leadership Competencies

Able to lead as an informal leader across teams and functions to produce results.

Professional Competencies

Lean principles and concepts in Kaizen, daily management, problem solving
