Job Summary

Benjamin Moore & Co., a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a leading manufacturer of innovative, high- quality coatings for the architectural and industrial maintenance markets. We are currently looking for an Associate Chemist to join our Exterior Architectural Coatings formulation team. In this role you, will collaborate with the Exterior formulation team working to improve existing products and develop and commercialize new products. This entry-level position requires a solid technical background, a desire to learn, the ability to problem solve and a willingness to think creatively. The role offers many opportunities for growth and development into higher technical or managerial roles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of new products in partnership with Quality, Marketing and Manufacturing teams
• Report, document and share observations and learnings
• Independently execute work assignments
• Build knowledge of formulation tools, test methods and production processes
• Support resolution of quality, procurement and manufacturing issues
• Maintain laboratory and equipment
• Participate in learning and capability building initiatives in product development

Required Skills

• BS in Chemistry or related science required; 0-3 years' experience in laboratory setting
• Strong people and cross-functional team management skills

• Possess good analytical problem-solving skills to make timely & accurate decisions
• Clear & concise record keeping
