POSITION SUMMARY:

The Building Façade/Envelope Specialist will be responsible for developing innovative facade programs using large format porcelain for clients. This role involves designing solutions for attaching large porcelain format products to new or existing buildings, engineering span charts for various thicknesses and wind loads, and providing standard details and exterior building renderings. Additionally, the specialist will offer consultancy to clients and sales teams, provide project-specific solutions, and assist in marketing facade solutions to Florim USA customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Study and Develop Solutions for Building Façades/Envelopes: Explore innovative solutions for attaching large porcelain format products to buildings, including visible and concealed systems.
• Engineer Span Charts and Provide Standard Details: Develop engineering span charts for different thicknesses and wind loads and provide standard details for facade systems.
• Generate Exterior Building Renderings: Create visually appealing exterior building renderings for marketing and presentation purposes.
• Provide Consultancy to Clients and Sales Teams: Offer expert consultancy to clients and sales teams on facade solutions, including presentations to the architecture community.
• Offer Project-Specific Solutions: Develop shop drawings, structural calculations, and installation training for specific projects, ensuring accurate take-offs and support.
• Assist in Marketing Facade Solutions: Collaborate with marketing teams to promote facade solutions to Florim USA customers, contributing to sales efforts and brand awareness.
• Coordinate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and construction teams to ensure cohesive integration of facade solutions into building projects.
• Conduct Performance Testing: Oversee and participate in performance testing of facade systems, including waterproofing, air barriers, and thermal barriers.
• Develop Maintenance Guidelines: Create guidelines for the ongoing maintenance of facade systems to ensure long-term durability and performance.
• Industry Trends: Keep abreast of industry developments and trends in facade design, construction techniques, and materials to inform innovation and improvement.
• Training and Support: Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to internal teams and external partners on facade installation and maintenance best practices.
• Product Development: Collaborate with R&D teams to develop new facade products and systems that meet market demand and regulatory requirements.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all facade solutions comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Budgets and Resources: Manage budgets and resources effectively to optimize project outcomes and meet financial objectives.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices and standard operating procedures for facade design and implementation.
• Maintain Documentation: Keep detailed records of all facade projects, including designs, specifications, test results, and project outcomes, for future reference and analysis.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, Construction, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Building envelope certifications.
  • Experience in performing building envelope tests.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk suite, Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, Bluebeam Revu.
  • Knowledge and experience with ASTM / AAMA testing standards.
  • Experience in analyzing envelopes using thermography and various other diagnostic tools.
  • Availability to travel for presentations and sales assistance.
  • Availability to travel to visit projects and job sites.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Must be willing and able to work 100% on-site at our corporate office in Clarksville, TN.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

We offer salary and benefits packages competitively placed within the local market. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 per year, or in line with the candidate's level of experience and qualifications.
