• Provide support for Federal and State income tax compliance including:
  • Assist in the preparation of the year-end tax provision, including ASC740 and FIN48 tax calculations.
  • Conduct tax research to substantiate tax positions.
  • Assist in the review of the federal and state income tax workpapers and returns provided by external providers.
  • Compile tax supporting information requests to share with external providers.
• Sales/use tax compliance
  • Supervise one Senior Tax accountant who is responsible for:
    • Review A/P invoices for use tax, record journal entries and perform monthly reconciliations, ensuring all payments were made by third party.
    • Prepare and provide sales and use tax work papers to third party for monthly sales/use tax return filings.
    • Review taxability of products by jurisdiction and update taxability matrices in our tax software for any changes.
  • Review filings prepared by third party for accuracy.
• Assist senior manager with both corporate and sales/use tax audits.
• Assist with new store setup, which includes researching sales tax for grocery items in new locations and ensuring rates are appropriately reflected.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or Master's degree in Taxation
• CPA license / CPA candidate a plus, but not required
• 3+ years of experience in public accounting, or corporate tax experience
• Understanding or prior experience with sales and use tax
• Intermediate understanding of GAAP and tax legislation
• Partnership and S-Corp tax experience a plus, but not required
• Strong excel and data processing skills
