Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in consumer hardware with or as a retailer or distributor.
  • Experience in a hardware company or a retailer in account management, buying, go-to-market, channel management, or channel marketing.
  • Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational level and to successfully launch new products in the market.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, solve problems, and scale effectively across a large organization.
  • Ability to take complex data and distill it into a meaningful and coherent story, with long-term strategic thinking balanced with near-term execution skills.

The Consumer Hardware team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make our users' interactions with computing faster, more powerful, and seamless. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, our Consumer Hardware team is making people's lives better through technology.

The Devices and Partnerships team manages relationships with retailers and industry partners. We are responsible for developing and executing the consumer go-to-market strategy to maximize the adoption of Google's hardware products throughout the Home and Health line up that includes brands like Nest and Fitbit.

As a Category Business Manager, you will collaborate with Sales, Product Planning, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Compliance teams to develop and refine our go-to-market strategy for Google Nest and Fitbit hardware and services within the hardware channels of the Americas.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google's Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google's own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google's user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$191,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive successful new product launches by analyzing channels, product configurations, and pricing strategies.
  • Generate and manage promotional/pricing strategy and budget for the Nest and Fitbit business in the Americas by developing analysis to support plans, and manage budgets and achieve business generation goals.
  • Manage and oversee ongoing business operations, providing regular reports on performance metrics, competitive activities, and market dynamics. Evaluate and assess business conditions, making necessary adjustments to strategies to optimize outcomes in a dynamic market environment.
  • Establish strategic partnerships, facilitate mutually beneficial joint promotional activities, and execute effective retail activation campaigns.
  • Develop integrated strategies for product lifecycle management, including end-of-life and product transition phases with business growth and inventory management as primary goals.
