Mardian Equipment is looking for a full-time Parts Specialist. As a Parts Specialist, you will be working in a fast-paced environment and utilizing your knowledge to identify, order, and get the parts to the field team and customers. Previous experience in a dealership parts department or similar job setting is ideal. They need to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and work with our multiple companies of the Marco Mardian family at all our locations.

Parts Specialist Requirements and Skills – Ideal Candidate
  • Valid driver's license
  • A clean driving record is necessary as occasional driving for parts may be required
  • Forklift experience
  • Three years minimum experience required
  • Excellent customer service
  • Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Computer proficiency and ability to enter information efficiently and promptly
  • Knowledge of mechanical/machine parts preferred
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
  • Knowledge of cataloging or inventory management systems, a plus
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
Position Responsibilities:
  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions
  • Increase sales opportunities
  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history
  • Obtain parts and rigging orders from outside customers through the following methods: phone, fax, e-mail, and walk-in
  • Monitor open sales orders for fulfillment and corresponding purchase orders (if applicable)
  • Order and receive parts and rigging
  • Determine the most economical method for shipping parts and rigging to its destination, depending on size, volume, and needed by date
  • Utilize vendors with favorable payment terms
  • Relieve inventory on parts posted to work orders or sales orders
  • Maintain accurate inventories
  • Maintain inventory reorder points, including minimum and maximum quantities.
  • Perform periodic cycle counts and perform year-end inventory counts.
  • Learn parts and rigging department order process to assist with procurement and fulfillment of parts and rigging orders

Physical Requirements:
  • The job requires standing and bending for approximately 6 to 8 hours daily
  • Walking around to verify parts and inventory as needed
  • Various working environments such as hot or cold conditions
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting up to 75 pounds
  • The dress code is casual shirts, sweaters, tops, golf-type shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, attractive athletic tops, and turtlenecks are acceptable attire for work. Jeans and casual work pants are good. All shop employees must wear closed-toe shoes. Inappropriate clothing for work includes shorts, tank tops, flip flops, or open-toed shoes.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in a parts department environment is preferred
  • Initially, this position will be an 8 to 4 work schedule but may rotate the shift to accommodate all schedules and times of the year. Summer and winter hours slightly vary.
  • Workdays are Monday through Friday.
