This remote role is not tightly linked to a physical location and provides flexibility in where, when and how you accomplish your work.Remote employees are expected to have a dedicated, quiet and distraction-free work space and an internet connection that's sufficient for completing their job remotely.

Job Summary

This role is primarily responsible for assisting the General Manager, Network Development, U.S., with the management and optimization of the dealer network in the U.S. market with a focus on improving profitability levels and ensuring dealers are well-positioned to invest in the brand. This person will support the market optimization plan for a region in the U.S. and will be primarily responsible for executing the plan in the region. The work will include management of buy/sells and closures with dealers in alignment with the U.S. market representation strategy. This person will oversee the processes associated with buy/sell transactions, add points, dealership consolidations and closures, market actions, facility projects, and related dealer actions in the U.S. region. The work will also include the performance management and direct communication with dealer principals and their management teams to improve dealer performance, financial health, and drive incremental growth. This person will work collaboratively with the other members of the Network Development team along with the U.S. Sales/Dealer Support representatives and management to assist with the overall management and optimization of the Harley-Davidson dealer network.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the GM, Dealer Development, U.S. with all aspects of managing the U.S. dealer network, specifically for the Northeast Region of the US market
  • Coordinate with central Dealer Development to ensure alignment with the overall U.S. strategy and a uniform application of policies and processes
  • Support the implementation of the market optimization initiative and with the development of a 5-year dealer network plan based on input and guidance from external consultants and H-D leadership
  • Develop the regional strategy based on the overall U.S. network plan and execute the strategic plan
  • Manage and prioritize all dealer market actions in the region, including buy/sells, closures, facility actions, and related market actions
  • Develop new-to-brand prospects and connect vetted prospects with selling dealers in the region
  • Effectively communicate company policies and guidelines along with standards and requirements to dealers
  • Evaluate dealership succession plans and recommend changes to align with company objectives
  • Respond to dealership inquiries, applications, and actions in region to approve or disapprove proposed actions and provide timely feedback and supporting data as necessary
  • Assist with managing the dealer onboarding process in region
  • Focus on improving and, in some cases, replacing underperforming dealers in region
  • Work closely with the dealer network, Field Sales team, Harley-Davidson Financial Services, Legal, and other company departments to assist with various market actions
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Dealer Development Department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Develop and foster relationships with stakeholders while keeping information confidential
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and dealer shows as necessary
  • Up to 30% travel

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

Experience Requirements
Required

  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience in network development, field operations, or other automotive/powersports dealer-facing sales and marketing roles
  • Knowledge of or experience in powersports or automotive dealer development or network development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead effectively through collaboration and influence
  • Strong project management skills/mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Maintain confidential and proprietary information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred

  • Familiarity with the Harley-Davidson dealer network
  • Understanding of dealership operations in the automotive or powersports space
  • Strong understanding of dealer financials
  • Sales-related background or experience
  • Masters in Business Administration

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
