The Strategy & Business Planning Analyst will support the Strategy & Business Planning Director in providing critical analysis on Moet Hennessy USA's Champagne & Sparkling brands (Moet & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Chandon, Dom Perignon, Krug, Ruinart), to ensure long-term growth and that strategic brand goals can be achieved.


Profile

ANALYSIS & PRESENTATIONS:

  • Serve as key resource for the Champagne & Sparkling team on all data needs by becoming an authority in core MHUSA data sources, including MH Biz, Qlik, MAP, Nielsen, etc,
  • Contribute to brand strategy and solve critical business challenges by conducting meticulous, quantitative business analysis covering a variety of topics including sales, market trends, competition, and consumer behavior.
  • Develop and monitor monthly Champagne & Sparkling brand performance and provide Champagne & Sparkling marketing team with detailed monthly analysis of the brand performance, outlining issues and opportunities.
  • Lead all Champagne & Sparkling portfolio ad-hoc analysis and reporting, and deriving valuable insights and outlining opportunities for the brands.
  • Analysis can include: selective distribution performance, pricing, limited editions depletions, inventory/supply
  • Support the team to build exciting and compelling presentations for senior leadership that are well constructed with clear insights and actionable next steps (Business reviews, Maison presentations...)
  • Deliver Monthly Business Review Presentations as needed to Maisons

PRODUCT MANAGEMENT & ALLOCATIONS

  • Support brand teams and ensure all new items are set up, price filed and allocated
  • Day to day management of allocations of all SKUs
  • This can include: prioritize strategic markets to prevent out of stocks, facilitating and ensuring Private Client Manager orders are processed in a timely manner, handling all private client and region inventory and allocation questions
  • Participate in Supply & Operations meeting, having clear understanding of forecasting and inventory management for each brand
  • Liase with Brand Teams to plan full year allocations across key functions (Brand, Regions, Private Client, e-business, etc)

ORGANIZATION

  • Become a respected player within MHUSA and work closely with departments of BI, Commercial Management, Operations and Finance
  • Develop a strong sense of market dynamics through training and analysis.
  • Work effectively in US Market / Global Maison / Commercial Regional team matrix organization

OTHER

  • Develop comprehensive understanding of each brand's business in the US over time: PnLs, historical, current and future volumes, specific channel and market focuses
  • Support in the planning process with Maison, Trade Marketing, Regions and National Accounts.


Additional information

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required; Master's or MBA preferred.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
3+ years of experience in business analysis/finance/business intelligence


PRACTICAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Excellent analytical and interpretative skills
  • Validated excellency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Comfortable with large data sets and learning internal database systems
  • Thrive in fast pace environment
  • Knowledge of consumer panels: IRI, Nielsen
  • Attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of organization/project management capabilities
  • Solid time management skills and ability to work autonomously or within a large team
