The salary range for this role is:

$92,345.21 - $157,063.90

Responsibilities:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) eCommerce will be responsible for the successful achievement of the ongoing Digital Merchandising, Assortment and Pricing objectives established for their scope of business. The key competencies associated with this position include (but are not limited to): establishing a strategic vision & perspective for assigned customers, effectively managing ambiguity & complexity in the marketplace, developing strategically aligned partnerships

with assigned customers while determining new account opportunities, demonstrating decision making agility, providing thought leadership through creative and innovative customer approaches, and utilizing business & financial acumen to deliver assigned revenue & profit goals within assigned spend. This position will focus on further developing Del Monte's base business and play a role in developing growth initiatives, strategies, and tactics for emerging categories.

Responsibility: Achieve Fiscal Year Financials for Amazon and other Pure Play Accounts)

  • Direct and deliver key financial metrics versus AOP sales with an aligned trade spend

Responsibility: In-Market Execution and Customer Development

  • Develop customer specific objectives in support of Del Monte's strategic plan
  • Achieve new item, assortment, pricing, and merchandising objectives set forth for specific customer objectives
  • Advise on search needs based on planned promotional plans and new item launches
  • Partner with the Omni Activation Team to drive surround sound support on key platforms for the business
  • Partner with the Sr. Manager of eCommerce, Digital Shelf Excellence on ongoing funding needs to drive results
  • Partner with the VP of eCommerce to develop long-term sales strategy for Amazon and assigned customers
  • Utilize Amazon's Vendor Central system to manage the day-to-day optics of the business, staying abreast of Amazon's policies, guidelines, and best practices to ensure compliance and maximize performance within the platform
  • Own all new item set up and deal submissions in both customer system and to the respective Amazon contact in a timely manner (Administrative responsibilities within customer portal)
  • Maintain partnership with Amazon customer success manager, and Vendor Managers utilizing weekly discussions to stay on top of the needs of the business, finding solutions for both short and long term initiatives
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behavior to identify opportunities for growth and optimization within Amazon's marketplace
  • Partner with the VP of Omni Activation and Selling in executing Amazon's Annual Vendor Negotiations.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and promotional opportunities with Amazon to maximize profitability and market presence
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to senior management on business performance, market trends, and strategic opportunities related to Amazon.

Responsibility: Direct and Drive JBP Partnership at Appropriate Levels of Customers

  • Merchandising: Achieve annual and key even merchandising objectives
  • New Items: Deliver new item objectives
  • Pricing: Manager everyday pricing within GTMS
  • Execute assortment initiatives as set forth by DMFI
  • Drive market share in select categories and sub-categories in line with Corporate objectives
  • Partner with demand planning on addressing and planning for the unique demands in forecasting the eCommerce business
  • Partner with Operations in refining process to better address the customers' demands within the eCommerce space
  • Manage varying fulfilment models with Amazon, to the end consumer
  • Effectively engage and leverage cross functional resources (HQ Business Unit, Customer Development, Shopper Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain) to exceed/achieve business objectives with assigned customers

  • Leverage Customer Development to translate, integrate and activate Del Monte Consumer strategies into key customer-level business plans

  • Coordinate and attend ongoing, business driving meetings with the Customer
  • Collaborate with Category Management and Customer Strategy Development to deliver best in class presentation materials and insights for business meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree required
  • 5-7 years region or headquarters retail sales experience in consumer-packaged goods industry or broker
  • Direct and execute all aspects of the fiscal year sales plan execution:
    • Develop and execute a strategic business plan to grow profitable volume year over year
    • Establish customer priorities, objectives and strategies based on marketplace conditions
    • Manage retail execution to ensure optimal digital shelf presence
    • Review DMFI GTMS with customer for understanding and compliance
  • Provide strategic input, reflecting customer requirements/needs into AOP planning process focusing on trade marketing strategy/tactics, delivering a plan that can be executed with customer to achieve company objectives.
  • Identify and understand customer's needs, and successfully interface with CD to customize plans that best meet the customer's strategic direction while optimizing growth opportunities.
  • Manage all aspects of trade spend to ensure DMFI funds are effectively utilized equitably with promotional strategies to achieve merchandising objectives. Manage trade funds to ensure incremental volume and profits result from spend. Monitor post promotional analysis to assess the impact of promotions and adjust, as appropriate, to improve results.
  • Analyze and pursue innovative incremental growth opportunities and strategies during the trade plan development phase, present these to Team Lead & CD for alignment, then incorporate into JBP.
  • Manage business based on a strategic scorecard aligned with customer, which focuses on mutually beneficial business growth, review quarterly, course correct when required, and proactively manage business.
  • Leverage cross functional support groups (Sales Finance, Supply Chain, Category Leadership, CD) to drive growth, provide insights and improve customer services.
  • Monitor the digital shelf for optimal content, display, and backend maintenance within Amazon's platform to convert to highest ROAS & overall sales
  • Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Systems, with a focus on Excel as well as POS data sources
  • Strong understanding of Amazon's marketplace dynamics, algorithms, and vendor/ seller tools
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights
