What to Expect?

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this role's focus will be on daily logistics support, network efficiency, carrier compliance and will support the Logistics Coordinators in their daily roles while working with the Logistics Manager to support initiatives, procurement events, and special projects. This role will have cross functional interactions and projects with internal/external stakeholders and partners.

On a daily basis our Logistics Optimization Lead:

  • Provides training and support to logistics coordinators.

  • Analyzes data to monitor performance and improve business processes.

  • Provides conflict resolution for the support coordinators and logistics data and reporting as needed.

  • Works with the Logistics manager to manage freight pay and costs and assists with freight claim resolution.

  • Responsible for the Freight Payment and Audit queue resolution with Field personnel.

  • Onboards new transportation partners.

  • Supports the Logistics manager with PMO communications and market updates to the field.

  • Resolves carrier partner issues.

  • Maintains carrier service standards and carrier compliance (i.e.: Active Insurance, Active DOT#, etc.)

  • Works with the Logistics manager to analyze LTL agreements and RFPs.

  • Works with internal departments and field management to implement initiatives.

  • Provides logistics support for business expansion initiatives into the retail sector.

  • Supports the operations team with daily routing tools (i.e.: Appian, Co-pilot, etc.)

  • Assists with special projects as needed.

What You Will Need:

  • 5+ years of experience in Logistics or similar field.

  • Bachelor's degree in business related discipline preferred.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to present to leadership.

  • Strong knowledge of logistics transportation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Advanced problem-solving ability with logical reasoning.

  • Strong customer service skills with ability to communicate effectively.

  • Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) tool.

  • Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool; Prelude preferred.

  • Experience managing third party vendor relationships; TMC Navisphere preferred.

  • Experience managing third party carrier relationships.

  • Keen sense of influential leadership

  • 5% Travel expectation.
