Wage Range: $16.30 to $19.75 - depending on experience with provable hours or work sample

Tasks of Position

The following are core and essential responsibilities of this position. Associates are responsible for completing any and all duties assigned as required for the successful operation of our business. All associates are required to perform their job duties in a manner which upholds the integrity and honesty of our company.

  • Reporting for assigned shifts on time, and on a regular basis, capable of communicating clearly and demonstrating suitable physical abilities to safety perform assigned tasks and duties, prepared to provide excellent service.
  • Promoting sales through active discussions with guests while receiving prescriptions, new and refill, from guests, and discussing current promotions and service information. (Examples may include: ordering products special requests, assisting guests locate products close to the pharmacy, and chatting about Yoke's signature items, fresh board and sweet deal suggestions).
  • Providing exceptional service by greeting guests, and informing them of the special features and services offered by the Pharmacy Department. Services provided by the Pharmacist include: carefully informing, educating, consulting, and providing medication management and drug utilization review and, answering questions on drug interaction, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals. Special features include: Prescription savings club, free fluoride for children, free prenatal vitamin for expectant mothers, insurance billing, pet prescriptions, smoking cessation, special orders of OTC, and vaccinations.
  • Assisting the Pharmacy Department by providing customer service and clerical support by performing the following duties:
  • Receiving new prescriptions from guests presented at the Pharmacy.
  • Verifying name, address and other pertinent information for accuracy. Inputting patient information into the computer. Recording prescription numbers and names of guests who call for refills.
  • Operating cash register, and other office equipment to facilitate customer service. Assisting with various clerical support to the Pharmacy Department, including filing hard copy prescriptions, invoices and reports.
  • Answering the telephone; providing information and/or directing phone calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Receiving and making phone calls from all physicians' offices necessary to transact a prescription order.
  • Managing prescription vials stock levels; marking inventory with expiration stickers and processing expired drugs.
  • Counting, pouring and labeling prescriptions as assigned or needed.
  • Directing protected conversation matter to the appropriate personnel according to the laws of the state.
  • Operating (at minimum) the following equipment in a correct and safe manner: com-line, telephone, FM unit (handheld), copy machine, fax machine, reconstitube, computer and all other equipment used in or by the Pharmacy Department
  • Communicating guests' requests with accurate and complete instruction for special orders.
  • Mentoring new associates or associates who are new to the department or task and assuring a positive learning environment.
  • Finding a way to "Make Our Guests Crazy About Us!"
  • Ensuring all work performed in the department is completed in accordance with all local, state, federal and company rules, regulations, and policies regarding workplace safety, sanitation/housekeeping standards, and guest services.
  • Participating actively in the Pharmacy Department's accident reduction plan including: monitoring displays for trip hazards or instability, observing safe lifting techniques, and recognizing safety features of all machinery, store evacuation plan, and robbery policy.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience

Registration with the State Board of Pharmacy; one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Writes simple correspondence. Speaks effectively and pleasantly to guests, vendors and fellow associates at all times.

Mathematical Skills

Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Performs mathematical skills using units of American money and weight measurement, volume.

Reasoning Ability

Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Manages problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands & Safety Expectations

Most positions within Yoke's require physical effort to varying degrees. As such, associates are expected to be mindful of practicing Yoke's safety standards at all times. This may include using personal protective equipment when and where required, understanding ergonomic safety, chemical hazards, safe lifting techniques, lockout/tag out procedures, and emergency protocol. All associates are required to report accidents within 24 hours.
