A Day in the Life

• Follows HACCP policies and procedures to ensure the safe production of all food items
• Maintain the daily production of pastry items and desserts for locations inside Hershey's Chocolate World. This could include production of doughs and batters, baking of cookies and other desserts, and decoration of a variety of desserts.
• Employee will work with industrial kitchen equipment to produce pastry and dessert Items.
• Complete daily checklists, properly rotate, label, and store prepped food items
• Maintain and clean and sanitary work area and support overall cleanliness of the kitchens.

What You'll Need

• Candidates must possess (or be able to complete within 6 months) ServSafe Food Handler certification.
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and manage multiple tasks at one time.
• Ability to react quickly to special situations
• Perform bakery skills typical of a kitchen environment or have a learning mindset and be willing to be trained on the job.
• Serve food and beverages according to standards for portion and presentation.
• Display pastry items and desserts according to standards.

Who We Are Looking For

• Individuals with a high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Individuals currently enrolled in career or technical education in Hospitality or Pastry Arts are preferred but not required.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

• Must maintain a neat appearance and meet the uniform standards.
• Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25-50 pounds. Overhead lifting may be required.
• Must be able to walk or stand for 5-8 hours.
• Requires repetitive motion of the hands, wrists, and forearms Requires bending, stooping, lifting, and twisting.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Must be able to work at a fast pace and remain focused, accurate, and efficient Ability to function effectively as part of a team.
• Must be able to follow company provided recipes.
