Job Description

SUMMARY
Responsible for directing a total effort toward the achievement of Territory/District sales goals and objectives. This is accomplished by interacting with established customers and developing new prospects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Call on established accounts, both multi-unit and large Independent Operators, to introduce, monitor and enhance program compliance and identify areas for increased sales.
  • Seek and identify new business opportunities in assigned sales territory.
  • Conduct meetings on a regular basis with first level managers of each account.
  • Keep informed on new products, pricing, and other general program and industry information.
  • Act as a consultant, to provide advice and guidance to customers in relation to their requirements. Insure proper service and follow-up.
  • Display or demonstrate product, using samples and catalogs, to emphasize features and benefits, where applicable and within program parameters.
  • Review receivables for all accounts and resolves any credit/collection issues with the Credit Department.
  • Ensure accurate pricing per program parameters.
  • Maintain daily contact with internal departments, customers, factory representatives, and other outside sources.
  • Keep records and reports on all phases of activities. Monitor competitive activity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

External Qualifications

Required: Associate's degree and 2-3 years experience in the Foodservice industry in an office environment or H.S. Diploma or GED and 5 years of progressively responsible Foodservice industry experience in an office environment. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel, Word, and Powerpoint), strong analytical, organizational skills and the ability to problem solve, multitask, prioritize and work independently. Excellent communication, time management and customer service skills. Must have reliable transportation to be able to visit accounts and participate in Sales training and meetings.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed and actively participate in pre-pack order check-ins for customers

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree and 2 years experience in a similar sales environment (B2B foodservice) and previous knowledge and/or experience working with SAP.
