Job Purpose









Thousands of crowd workers around the globe are the cornerstone of our fast-growing AI services business. As the Crowd HR Manager, you will build a scalable crowd model and be a partner for business operations. In close cooperation with local HR teams and the Supply Chain organization you will ensure that our engagement with colleagues and contractors is clearly defined, fair and always compliant with local rules and regulations. You and your small team will implement internal and external communication strategies and provide superior customer service and support to our online community.

Job Overview









Key Responsibilities

    1. Partnership with Business
    • Act as the partner for business operations in all matters relating to crowd workers.
    1. Policies
    • Develop policies that clearly define the rights, responsibilities, pay and benefits of crowd workers, while maintaining compliance with labor laws.
    1. Compliance
    • Stay updated on best practice and consult legal experts to ensure proper classification and compliance to protect both our people and our company.
    1. Terms & conditions, pay
    • In cooperation with our operations team and HR, define terms & conditions as well as pay to ensure our jobs are competitive, conditions fair and in line with local markets while maintaining project profitability.
    1. Community management
    • Leverage your team to implement internal and external communication strategies to provide superior customer service and support to our online community.
    • Deliver effective training and guidance to both employees and contractors.
    1. Well-being
    • Coordinate well-being requirements and implement the Employee Assistance Program as defined by RWS internal standards and by customer contracts.
    1. Team Management
    • Lead a small team of HR and communication professionals.
    • Engage and coordinate with our global People Services Organization.
    • Cooperate closely with business Operations, internal Supply Chain organization and other functions.

Skills & Experience

  • HR Management degree or equivalent work experience
  • Profound understanding of the complexities and challenges of the gig economy
  • Experience in managing the people function in an AI services organization with a large and diverse crowd of independent contractors, freelancers and part-time workers in the US and other countries.
  • Solid understanding of compliance requirements related to crowd workers
  • Experience in managing a small team.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and solutions-oriented approach
  • Ownership, ability to work independently.

Base Pay

$110,000 - $140,000 / year

Actual rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to: position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
