Immediate Settlement Claims Adjuster

Catalytic Claims Services, a subsidiary of Align Claims Services, a subsidiary of Dual N.A., is currently searching for several candidates for consideration of a new role titled “Immediate Settlement Claims Adjuster”, working in the Dallas Office.

Catalytic Claims Services is seeking individuals that will provide high-quality work and excellent customer service to all policyholders and/or claimants, which will ultimately result in satisfied customers for CCS and the carriers that we support.

The candidate must possess the capacity and skillset to learn how to evaluate new reported claims and determine the best course of action for the resolution of each claim. This may include fully resolving claims from the initial assignment.

The ideal candidate would have very good customer service skills, investigative skills, communication skills, and an internal drive to obtain success. The ideal candidate must have the ability to prioritize their workload and eventually work to conclude claims with minimal oversight. Training and support will be provided in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Establish contact with our policyholder, or their representative, within 24 hours of assignment received and within 72 hours after a catastrophic event.

  • Complete initial review and understanding of the claim, review and determine applicable coverages, and review, evaluate, and estimate damage using Xactimate, if warranted.

  • Utilize company Best Practices as a guide and communicate the claim denial or claim settlement according to the requirements of each state in which the claim was reported.

  • Communicate with the policyholder, policyholder representatives, agents, contractors, experts and independent adjusters as needed during the life of each claim.

  • Input payment if the claim settlement is within approved authority level or request authority as needed through a Claims Manager, based on each individual claim.

  • Utilize all available reports to manage pending claims and continue to track them through completion

  • Review all recovery possibilities that may be available, including salvage and subrogation, placing all parties on notice of the potential recovery

  • Obtain recorded interviews from applicable parties for a claim, if needed

  • Secure expert reports including fire and police department reports.

  • Utilize a computerized estimating system after training has been completed.

  • Work overtime during high volume periods or after catastrophic events as needed.

  • Work with public adjusters and attorneys, as needed.

  • Manage third party vendors on a per claim basis.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution preferred

  • Must have current and valid Texas adjuster's license or obtain in 90 days.

  • Must have or acquire a valid adjuster's license in all states that CCS supports within the first year of employment.

  • Ability to learn insurance contracts.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to empathize with customers and agents.

  • Ability to operate personal computer.

  • Ability to learn all Microsoft Products that will be utilized in role.

Daily Activities

After licensing and training is completed, the daily activity may include, but is not limited to, the following:

Review initial reported facts of loss from a policyholder to determine the likely cause of loss and whether the applicable named peril policy may be applicable to the loss. Review initial reported facts of loss to determine if the reported loss scenario can be immediately resolved (i.e., no peril insured against; minor claim with available contractor estimate; minor theft event; glass damage; minor personal property claim) and proceed with claim resolution. Recommend field assignment if the initial reported facts may require further investigation from a licensed field adjuster (i.e., structure damage without a contractor and the policyholder is unable to assist with providing loss information) or mitigation vendor. Investigate the existence of prior losses on each policy for each claim reported that would include both Insurance Now and PACS. Upload all related prior claims into the claim log of the converted claim within the “Insurance Now” system. Learn all aspects of water mitigation and work toward IICRC certification. Assist with the evaluation of personal property damage that may arise from the team. Assist policyholders and agents with claim inquiries as needed. All other duties assigned.
