Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Pharmacist Intern Resident, you will desire to be a highly motivated pharmacist in advanced education and training that leads to an enhanced level of professional pharmacy practice. What You Will Do In This Role:

  • You will comply with facility pharmacy schedule to work physically at patient care areas to interact with medical staff, nurses and other members of the healthcare team
  • You will recognize untreated medical issues that could be improved or resolved with appropriate medication therapy.
  • You will identify and consults on possible drug interactions.
  • You will effectively provide education or in-services on rational medication therapy and medication procedures to healthcare professionals, students, patients, or the public as needed.
  • You will train and participate with Disaster Team drills and real-event response as assigned/appropriate

What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • Licensed to work as a registered pharmacist in the State of Texas, no later than October 1 of the residency year is required.
  • Adhering to the rules of the resident matching program (RMP) process and utilize the PhORCAS system for the application process is required.
  • Pharmacy Intern License & must obtain Texas Pharmacist License within 60 days of hire.

Corpus Christi Medical Center is a 630+ bed healthcare system of hospitals in Corpus Christi and the surrounding Coastal Bend community.
