Job Overview

The Lead will perform duties related to maintaining the flow of production through our sheet metal fabrication area. This individual will report to the area Supervisor delivering leadership and excellence in manufacturing processing and ensuring a safety-first work environment. Ensures efficient use of material and equipment assigning personnel as appropriate to execute day to day operations. Provide technical support through interactions with support groups to ensure accurate and well managed transfer of process changes/improvements to floor operations. Provide support to integrate best practices, where appropriate, into manufacturing.

A Day In The Life
  • Lead a team that is focused on the primary purposes of daily operation through safety, quality, service, and productivity.
  • Ensure the hourly workforce is effectively trained and flexible throughout the department.
  • Primary contact for troubleshooting and issue resolution or escalation.
  • Oversight and execution of all routine and critical operations, as well as changeover validation activities.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete, reviewed, and meets expectations.
  • Responsible for floor inventory and communicating schedule.
  • Monitor material consumption and coordinate all materials deliveries.
  • Recommend/Implement process changes/improvements or safety/ergonomic improvements.
What will help you thrive in this role?

Skills and Experience

  • At least 5 years manufacturing lead experience
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as drawings, maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and material drawings.
  • Basic mechanical skills - Needed for trouble shooting printers, presses, and baggers.

PHYSICALS DEMANDS & WORK ENVIROMENT:

  • Ability to move about the facility moving product.
  • Lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must wear all PPE required for the specific work area.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Stand and or sit on stool in one area for up to two (2) hours at a time.
  • Turn and assemble production parts with fingers and hands for up to two (2) hours at a time.
  • Work usually takes place in a manufacturing/warehouse environment where conditions can be reflective of the outside elements.
