Extended Education Ventures (EEV) () is a self-supporting unit within The University of Texas at Austin that enables the development, delivery, and promotion of continuing and professional education across the university.

This position is eligible for a hybrid Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) (on-campus and remote work). FWA arrangements are subject to manager approval and may shift due to changes in business needs.

We are a highly-productive, highly-motivated team of professionals who are passionate about providing quality programming to help non-traditional students find continuing and professional education that supports their career goals and builds a better future.

We are looking for a new team member to join our collaborative efforts working across multiple in-house units and taking ownership of an assigned portfolio of programs, serving as primary expert for assigned programs, and implementing recommendations for product enhancements.

Purpose

Manage the development and ongoing delivery of high-quality continuing and professional education programs at the Center for Professional Education. This position is crucial in setting and maintaining the strategic vision for assigned portfolio. Primary duties include identifying market-relevant training needs, working with others to develop value-add programming, and supporting associated marketing and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the strategic development and ongoing delivery of non-credit continuing education courses and certificate programs for 2-4 areas of study. Identify training opportunities that will build upon and expand current programming, create impact for learners, and generate unit revenue. Working in tandem with the team manager, build overall product vision and strategy, lead in decisions about pricing and positioning, identify and communicate business requirements, and recommend ongoing changes and enhancements to optimize relevancy and value to students.

  • Recruit and hire instructors and other subject matter experts (SMEs). Coordinate associated contracts and payments. Work with SMEs and team members to develop high-quality learning experiences, both online and in-person, that meet all identified objectives. Monitor overall performance to ensure contractual terms and quality expectations are met. Directly address real-time issues and provide logistical support as needed.

  • Determine schedule of offerings. Produce program profit/loss statements, manage direct costs, and provide regular reports on portfolio performance. Monitor program metrics through standard evaluation and data analysis procedures.

  • Understand and ensure compliance with appropriate industry and university requirements. Maintain awareness of industry trends and changes by attending association meetings, meeting with current professionals and SMEs, and reading current industry literature.

  • Drive effective teamwork, communication with various levels of stakeholders, collaboration and commitment across work units. Meet regularly with colleagues to share information in a timely manner, gather input and feedback, and develop strategies for success. Maintain documentation. Provide regular updates to supervisor and unit directors.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years relevant experience designing or delivering training or professional development to adult learners. Excellent communication and writing skills. Experience with financial tracking and analysis. Attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of personnel both internally and externally. Ability to self-start and operate with little supervision. Occasional travel may be required. Demonstrates core values listed on the General Notes section of posting.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working in higher education, workforce development, or with professional associations and boards. Professional certification in an area of study offered by the Center for Professional Education, such as project management, business analysis, or human resources.

Salary Range

$50,000+ depending on qualifications
