Job Summary

WorkCare is searching for a full-time (40 hours/week) Junior Graphic Designer to join our Industrial Athlete Program team. This is a new role that will participate in the creation of a variety of graphic design-related projects for internal and external use. The Junior Graphic Designer will work under the direction of the Industrial Athlete Program's Consulting Projects Manager and in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications department, including the Director and Lead Graphic designer.

An interest in how people do their jobs, physiology, athletic training, physical fitness, ergonomics, mental health and wellness are a plus but not required for this position.


Responsibilities

  • Develop visually stimulating graphic design work for print, video, website, PowerPoint presentations, social media and other platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Industrial Athlete Program team on projects/campaigns to perform a variety of graphic design functions relative to the delivery of program services. Materials may have WorkCare and/or client company branding.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all platforms/collateral.
  • Design/edit multiple digital or print-based communications, such as:
    • promotional materials
    • email blasts
    • newsletters
    • posters
    • logos/icons
    • flyers
    • brochures
    • PowerPoint presentations
    • animations
    • training materials
    • postcards
    • videos
  • Utilize knowledge and understanding of MS Office Suite and other software capabilities for the following functions:
    • Word processing
    • Presentations
    • Design
    • Internal and external communication
  • Brainstorm and develop design solutions and concepts from start to finish.
  • Familiarity with other WorkCare product lines involving cross-disciplinary service delivery.
  • Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
    • Minimum of an AA degree in a graphic design-related major is required; bachelor's degree in graphic design, media arts or related field preferred.
    • Minimum 1 year directly related experience providing graphic design services to one or more organizations to promote products/services; recent college graduate with related work experience considered.
    • Able to show a portfolio of your work demonstrating creativity and eye for colors/design.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Understand brand development and ability to follow company brand/style guidelines.
    • Creative, self-motivated, responsive, reliable and well-organized.
    • Able to follow directions and comfortable about asking questions.
    • Strong understanding of the complementary and opposing forces of visual design and interactive design in context of overall user experience.
    • Demonstrated understanding of design requirements for a variety of platforms (browser usability, cross-platform compatibility, color and quick loading of images, etc.).
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional approach with others in deadline-sensitive, multi-tasking situations.
    • Ability to work independently and work well as part of a small team.
    • Ability to take initiative on projects and feel comfortable providing effective feedback and suggestions on department projects, etc.
    • Familiarity with routine website functions.
    • PowerPoint design and animation skills.
    • Ability to interpret design needs and requests.
    • Requires regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Computer Skills
    • Possess strong technical skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator).
    • Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, Adobe After Effects CS5 and Adobe Flash CS5 is appreciated, but not required.
  • Physical Demands
    • Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
    • Some bending and stretching could be required.
    • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
    • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard and mouse.
    • Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
    • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Work Environment
    • Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
    • Environment must be free from background noise and distraction, noise level is acceptable, temperature is controlled.
    • At home set up must meet all Company IT, privacy, and safety requirements.

Additional Job Information

This is a fully remote position. The work hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm Central Time with some flexibility. Candidates can be located in any time zone as long as they can work the hours of the position.

This position has a salary range of $20.00-$27.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the final candidate within this range depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.

**New or recent graduates can expect a range of $20.00-$24.00 per hour.
