Job DescriptionGeneral Purpose of Job: This individual works closely with Senior Leadership and Management to identify market opportunities, understand market intelligence and competitive intelligence to implement marketing programs and initiatives for PHP to achieve growth and sales objectives.
This individual will report to, and work closely with, the VP of Business Development, as well as sales managers at PHP to assess the competitive landscape and develop an annual marketing plan to best position PHP and achieve market growth. This person will coordinate activities with Sparrow Marketing ensure alignment of goals and activities with the marketing plan and to ensure brand standards for the health system are maintained.
Essential Duties:
- Work collaboratively with organizational leadership and VP of Business Development to develop, implement and evaluate specific marketing and promotional initiatives to meet measurable goals and defined outcomes and ensure that marketing strategies are aligned to broader organizational growth strategies.
- Provide organization leadership for the PHP marketing department to successfully execute the organizations short and long term growth strategies.
- Facilitates direct communication with Sparrow Marketing leadership to ensure that PHP marketing and brand initiatives are aligned with broader health system marketing and brand strategies.
- Regularly monitor market data such as market share, community perceptions, customer satisfaction and competitor profiles to determine opportunities and weaknesses for the development of marketing plans.
- Coordinate and manage the use of creative resources such as advertising agencies and in-house staff to support the needs of marketing initiatives.
- Organizes and coordinates activities of marketing staff and other direct reports in determining best use of available resources for marketing support.
- Must be able to work in a self-directed environment with limited supervision and to make independent decisions and conclusions related to planning projects and data analysis.
- Positively represent PHP and Sparrow Health System in community, social and business activities and organizations.
- Develops a process to ensure retrospective analysis of implemented marketing initiatives and compare their results to established targets and budgets.
- Remains current with health care industry trends and technology, maximizing available resources such as the Advisory Board and professional societies.
- Expectation to attend conferences and other educational events as necessary.
