FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Part-Time


OUR MISSION

The mission of the Eastern Star Church ministry is evangelism and discipleship. We are committed to the great commission instituted by Jesus Christ. We are focused on ministering to the unsaved and nurturing and developing those that are saved (Matthew 28:18-20). Everything we have done is to live out this vision that the Lord has given to our church family. From adding ministries to staffing, from building facilities to adding programs, from stewardship to membership, it has all been for the purpose of being obedient to the commission of Christ.


YOUR ROLE IN OUR MISSION

The primary responsibility of this position is the development, coordination, promotion, and supervision of select ESC ministries and their activities both online and on campus; provide the congregation with opportunities for discipleship and service. Also responsible for strategic planning, implementation and evaluation for select ESC ministries and their activities.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate, promote, supervise and evaluate ministries.
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate the inclusion of evangelistic/devotional emphasis in the ministries and others upon request.
  • Plan, organize, supervise and evaluate approved programs and activities of discipleship ministries.
  • Develop means for checking the interest and needs of the congregation to create or delete ministries, when needed.
  • Collaborate with other Discipleship coordinators and departments to plan and optimize ministry activities and visit other campuses to observe ministry as needed.
  • Visit all ESC campuses periodically to observe and optimize ministry activities. Visit other campuses as needed.
  • Develop an effective work plan that prioritizes and outlines ministry activities, and programs with outcomes and timelines.
  • Coordinate with the Communications department for timely and appropriate input for video announcements and social media.
  • Coordinate with the Communications department for publication of brochures, calendars, posters, flyers and related communications to help explain and promote ministries.
  • Attend staff meetings and strategic planning sessions contributing and providing appropriate reports and information as requested.
  • Work within approved budget and monitor expenditures as requested for each ministry, program and activity.
  • Prepare oral and written reports as requested.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers and community representatives.
  • Ability to work as a member of a department team with willingness to cross-train certain team functions.
  • Knowledge of word processing, desktop publishing, and spreadsheets. Ability to operate personal computer; calculator; copy and fax machine; phone; mobile or portable radio; and automobile.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS AND IDEAL CHARACTERISTICS
Must have the following:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with administration, supervisor, staff, volunteers, congregation and the community.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before small and large groups.
  • Ability to effectively, read interpret and present information to top management, the congregation, volunteers and the community.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and data furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and develop outcomes.
  • Some college education or related experience strongly preferred.

Compensation details: 25000-35000 Hourly Wage
