The basics of this position:

Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of campus-based student engagement programs and activities. Collaborate with other Student Activities Assistant II's.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as primary advisor and resource person to all student clubs and organizations. Liaison with club officers and club advisors for advice and direction regarding event planning and regular questions. Elevates concerns to CLM when needed.
  • Oversee the process for student organization registration reactivation process, new student org creation process, and student org and advisor communications, including handbooks, emails, and website updates.
  • Develop, schedule, and manage monthly meetings, trainings, and communications with club members and club advisors.
  • Assist clubs/orgs with the room reservation process.
  • Update and maintain Club/Organization and advisor rosters.
  • Assists manager with Club Officer trainings.
  • Plans, organizes, and oversees student travel programs; chaperones off campus trips and events, as needed. Process and arrange Club and Organizations Travel, Request for Travel approval, check Club account balance for travel, students' GPA, and release forms for travel.
  • Identify, develop, and implement methods to market Student Engagement initiatives to increase participation through the creation of enhanced communications to include but not limited to writing/editing documents, publications, letters, articles, reports, website content, and social media. Monitor all social media accounts. Post information to accounts. Create flyers for campus life activities. Review and approve/deny student org event fliers.
  • Assist with programming of intramural/recreation sport activities.
  • Interpret and implement college policies and procedures related to student activities.
  • Coordinates campus programs and activities, including room reservations; catering/food ordering and delivery; facility use; security; event set up and clean up; parking arrangements; technical/special equipment requirements; staffing/volunteers; and other services.
  • Attends events and provides on-site assistance.
  • Works with wholesalers for creating and purchasing giveaway items.
  • Works with manager to create, update and distribute the campus life events calendar. Post events to college website event calendar.
  • Serve as lead for Recognition Ceremonies, Awards Programs/Banquets.
  • Compiles information for reports and maintains accurate records of student involvement in co-curricular, and programming events.
  • Ability to travel between campuses to support student engagement activities.
  • Attend staff and division meetings.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and Core Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, experience, and other requirements:

* Associates degree required.
* One (1) year of experience in campus programming and student organizations.
* Knowledge of student organization procedures.
