Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, you must have the ability to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and physical ability required and will be monitored and reviewed by the plant manager during your probationary period, as well as annually. These duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to...

  • Follow all safety rules set forth by the company, ensuring you work in a safe manner.
  • Develop and perform all periodic maintenance inspections (PMIs) on all mechanical and hydraulic shop/warehouse equipment to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Possess working knowledge and demonstrate skills in the following performance areas: Welding, Electrical, Hydraulics, HVAC, Mechanical, Deisel Motors.
  • Requisition bids and proposals from vendors and suppliers for facility maintenance repairs. Make recommendations to management for annual capital expense repairs or replacements to maintain peak efficiency of facility.
  • Perform or subcontract services for ground maintenance activities such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
  • Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Paint and perform structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings.
  • Inspect work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Follow safety regulations.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
  • Analyze and resolve production machinery problems.
  • Maintain time and productions records on equipment as directed.
  • Perform activities of workers on assembly line to monitor effectiveness of machine maintenance.
  • Monitor and test fire protection, security systems, heating and cooling systems.
  • Maintain and update Certificates of Insurance for all vendors and subcontractors.
  • Regular attendance is required. You are required to be consistently at work and on time.
  • Adapt to changes in the work environment and be able to deal with frequent change or unexpected work assignments.
  • Set and achieve personal and team goals. Demonstrate persistence and overcome obstacles.
  • Strive to continuously build product knowledge and skills and be willing to share expertise with others.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: HS Diploma, GED or two (2) years equivalent work experience. Must be able to understand and communicate safety and other work-related instructions. Ability to understand and apply fundamental mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). General warehouse experience required. Normal warehouse operations environment with considerable physical exertion. Will perform duties in all weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications: Typically more than seven (7) years of experience in related job function. Role may require technical certification, or associates degree. Certification in maintenance of internal combustion engines (diesel and gas), gear train, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic systems, etc. Understand OSHA and environmental regulations and assist with compliance. Eight (8) to ten (10) years of hands-on diesel mechanical field experience and/or education.
