SUMMARY

The Screen Fabrication Technician is a key production position which directly contributes to the success of the company by participating in the day-to-day screen fabrication process. Checks schedule in ERP system for desired quantity, date and priority to produce a high-quality product. Adheres to the work schedule for department operations in conjunction with production schedule. Responsible for understanding and following all policies, practices, and standard operating procedures of the company.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Reviews available jobs and determines what screen-fabrication needs are required to complete that operation.


2. Encompasses the following operations:

* Frame Prep – Selects and prepares the frame by cleaning, applying of adhesive and delivers frame to Stretching.

* Stretching – Places frame in stretching system to appropriately stretch and apply mesh with adhesive to frame.

* Coating – Coats screen with emulsion using an automatic coater.

* Imaging – Places screen in imaging system in order to add image to the screen.

* Developing – Rinses screen with water to develop the image.

* Block-Out – Applies a filler coating on the print side of the screen.

* Physical Inspection – Performs physical quality checks of the screen.

* Masking Cut – Uses automated machine to cut various materials to be applied to screen.

* Masking Apply – Applies the various materials to the screen.

* Visual/Final Inspection – Performs visual checks and final inspections to make sure screen meets all customer requirements.


3. Understands the different variables of screen fabrication and how it impacts the overall quality and successful outcome of the product for the customer.


4. Demonstrates consistent, clear and proactive workmanship that will motivate and partner with team members and produce the highest quality products.


5. Has a full working knowledge of ERP System and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


6. Committed to continuous improvement initiatives and work alignment of business objectives and goals.


7. Improves production and processes by identifying and communicating ideas/thoughts to which will improve safety, increase production and reduce overall costs.


8. Adheres to workplace schedule and all aspects of production to meet and exceed customer requirements and expectations including:

* Completing production work schedule in the company's ERP system,

* Reporting of frame inventory and mesh consignment to Lead/Supervisor,

* Maintaining all production materials and reporting to Lead/Supervisor in a timely manner when inventory is low.


9. Observes company employee practices and policies including:

* Adhering to work schedule and timely attendance of work hours,

* Partners with team members for best practices and outcomes,

* Is able to fully understand who/where to go if questions/problems arise.


10. Has a working knowledge of all gauge calibrations used for the job.


Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High School Graduate or GED.

· Experience in a manufacturing setting a plus.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Demonstrated ability to understand and/or operate all related equipment

· Excellent communication skills

· Ability to work with others

· Ability to lift 50 lbs.

· Ability to perform screen fabrication processes within 90 days of employment in order to be competent in this core position

· Ability to withstand working standing up and being on feet all day
