Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gage calibration with periodic layouts; perform maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
- Coordinate all other repairs of gages and fixtures with tool shops.
- Update and maintain electronic system for all calibrated gages, fixtures, and tools.
- Manage daily release of gages to production floor.
- Perform new gage layouts, correlations, GR&R studies, and releases.
- Control documents and records of all gage activities (i.e., layout, repairs, correlations, etc.)
- Must be able to communicate professionally with all customers, vendors, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Coordinate with local outside venders for calibration of gages and tools. May require occasional travel to and from facilities.
- Be aware of constraints with production and assist when necessary.
- Train new Gage Control Techs as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment compliant with PCC safety rules.
- Coordinate with process and product engineering on gage projects.
- Assist other PCC facilities with gage related issues and transfers.
- Perform other assignments as directed by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- High School graduate or GED required.
- Must have a good math understanding and background.
- Must be familiar with standard quality inspection instruments and gages.
Able to read and understand blueprints.
- 5 or more years of experience in plate layouts highly preferred.
- Experience with CMM and Bluelight also preferred.
- Must understand layout techniques, operations, and instruments.
- Must have knowledge of calibration software (GAGEtrak is preferred).
- Ability to work independently.
- Should be mechanically inclined.
- Ability to work overtime as needed to support manufacturing needs.
Ability to lift 35 lbs. at a maximum and the ability to push or pull objects weighing up to 90 lbs.
