Job DescriptionDescription:

Purpose: CNC lathe machinists operate computer numeric controlled (CNC) lathes. CNC Lathe machinists perform tooling changes, make tool offsets adjustments and trouble shoot. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for programing and making tooling adjustments.


Essential Functions:

  1. Prepares and operates lathe to perform machining operations, such as turning, boring, facing, and threading parts, such as castings, forgings, and bar stock.
  2. Maintain specifications by observing, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting, replacing/rotating worn tool inserts, adhering to quality control procedures and processes.
  3. Determine and prepare tooling and special machine attachments.
  4. Read and interpret blueprints or drawings necessary to complete assignments.
  5. Detect and correct minor machine malfunctions and perform daily and monthly machine maintenance.
  6. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to standards.
  7. Maintains organized and clean work areas
  8. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Requirements:

Requirements (Consider the required knowledge, skills, abilities, behaviors, and/or equipment)

  1. High School diploma or GED preferred
  2. Good math skills
  3. 2+ years' experience as a Lathe machinist in a metal-forming manufacturing environment
  4. Ability to read and interrupt blueprints
  5. Experienced setting up tolling on mills
  6. Strong ability to problem solve.
  7. Strong attention to details
  8. Ability to work overtime

Compensation details: 28-38 Hourly Wage
