Job Title: Operations Intern

FLSA Classification: Intern, Non-Exempt/Hourly

Work Location: Fall River, MA

Work Hours: General: 8:30PM - 5:00PM (may vary based on business needs)

Reports To: Operations Manager

Purpose:

Scope:

Invagen Pharmaceuticals is searching for experienced candidates for the position of Operations Intern.

The Operations Intern position is for an individual seeking to align with a deeper interest in the duties and responsibilities of production and material management. This position will provide support to many disciplines including Planning, Engineering and Life Sciences with focus on statistical reporting. The intern may be assigned one or more projects involving various subject matters.

Upon completion, the intern will receive a formal evaluation of his/her contributions and performance. The intern will also have the opportunity to present their accomplishments during our internship wrap-up event.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Work with operations team to order raw and packaging materials to support plant production schedules.
  • Managing inventory of raw/finished products.
  • Assist with identifying trends and make recommendations for improving plant processes and operations.
  • Develop management skills while leading and motivating others.
  • Develop a logistic flow of packaging materials that support production demands.
  • Tracking key performance indicators for meeting production demands.
  • Provide customer service support to facilities and key stake holders to ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Establish a liaison between plant operation and other departments (including New York).
  • Follow strict internal protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as following current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Qualifications for Manufacturing Intern

  • Currently a matriculated student in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or Operations Management.
  • Able to commit to a 6-8-week internship.
  • Proficiently speak English as a first or second language
  • Proficiently communicate and understand (read and write) scientific work in English.
  • Ability to understand and analyze complex data sets.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and other scientific based software.
  • Experience in Inhalation products (MDI) is a plus.

Skills

  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices and good documentation practices preferred.

  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to focus on details.

  • Basic computer skills (Word and Excel) - Intermediate

  • Good basic math knowledge and excellent attention to details.

Physical requirements

  • Must be willing to work in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.
  • Must be willing to work some weekends based on business needs as required by management.
